The Skinny Jean Scene #1

i have one pair of 10'' jbrands and don't wear them too often because they skim my ankles (e.g. too short), so yeah if you're more on the petite side they may be great for you.

the other really skinny jeans ~9-10'' openings i have are cheap monday, cheapo pair of BDG or LUX or whatever Urban Outfitter's house brand happens to be... and then the corpus brand carried by UO appear to be <12'' and a few of the uglier acid washes are on sale atm.

i need to buy a nice pair of tight, soft skinny jeans in a nice wash. when the denim is too stiff, they don't fit well with the body. any suggestions?
denimbirds--satin black wash... very soft and comfortable--for my body it (Robin, a highwaisted style) was an excellent fit. got my pair on sale and they were definitely worth it--would definitely buy again if <100$.

I have Cheap Mondays and BDG skinnies as well. I adore my CM's, but have you found that BDG jeans are just the worst quality imaginable? They're marketed as Urban Outfitter's discount brand... but I think I paid $60. That's a bit much considering how long they lasted me (less than a year).

Bad quality and disproportionate pricing... welcome to Urban Outfitters, I guess

American Apparel slim slacks are very soft and well made, I love them. I tend not to get them my exact size, because I do not like my jean to fit like spandex, but either way, a nice investment, trust. You must go to the store and try them on though, simply because I have experienced certain waist sizes, depending on colour, to be sized incorrectly.

the BDG pair that I have was 10$ second-hand and it was obvious they shrank when washed for the first time. they've held up quite well to what i've been doing to them tho (bikes, running, falling, sitting normally :P). i wouldn't buy them for 60$ tho--esp if I live near one and can check in on sales, etc.

@lesypersound: I'm wearing my grey BDG skinnies right now, bought at full price (NEVER AGAIN). There are holes in just about every unfortunate region you can imagine, and I have stitched/patched these up countless times.

I'm anti-BDG as of now. That is, unless I can snatch up a pair for $10

worn everyday with my school jersey. gotta love the black skinnies~with slightly dressy ballet flats to avoid lookin emo if thats not what ur after :wink:then light & dark denim for weekends. i like them higher so they're safer when u bend over to avoid lookin trashy

april77 also makes some pretty nice ones.

oh my! i love the skinnies posted on this page! all of them! i want to buy them all! :o
i only have three pair of skinnies

how can we let this thread without a note. My wardrobe is a skinny jeans shop :-). Cheap Monday are among those I wear the most (I have four pairs, faded, grey, black and a home-made overdyed black). Superfine fit is the best on me (I have two pairs: high-waisted grey and low waist light blue). Also in my closet: Acne high waist, Top Shop Moto black tuxedo buttoned high-wasted, 18th Amendment dark blue, R&R dark non-stretch, two Diesel (faded and black), 1 rare Levi's vintage, 1 People Market I bought at Kiliwatch in Paris, two April 77 (dark blue and Indigo). And I find a way to wear them all...

On the contrary, I hate every skinny jean on this page (especially the ripped-up skinnies from Post #4,811). A look I've liked with skinny jeans was in wearing skinny jeans with pumps or some heeled sandals. Ballet flats are also perfectly fine. A disparity I usually have is telling skinny leg jeans from slim leg jeans.

I don't really hate skinny jeans, but I have especially disliked high-waist skinny jeans. It's trying too hard to go with these slimming jeans with a high waist. Never seen a pair of high-waist skinny jeans I like no matter what such fanatics try to tell me otherwise.

Okay. I've defined skinny jeans as jeans that all or mostly as tight as leggings all or mostly the way down, only that they are proper pants (sorry if I seem too biased). I've been burned out over skinny jeans to where jeans that aren't super-tight all the way down are overrated. And I've even more dislike them just for those trying to go with jeans tucked into Arctic boots on low-temperature days with high humidity. You have no choice but to wear boots over jeans with skinnies (you could still "hide" the boots under skinnies though it's not a very clean look). But even still, I've been burned out and tired of these jeans and these leggings and stuff like that. Whatever happened to other kinds of bottoms? We can't all be sporting leggings and skinnies now, can we?

i dont like wearing anything but skinnies anymore.

i love this thread.
i wore them even before they were a trend.

even though occasionally my friends used to be like how do you wear those jeans??

I personally love skinny jeans and sometimes....quite often auctally, I image a world without them, unfortunatley burned in my memories are the ugly tapered jeans my mother used to wear in the 80s early 90s..ugh, I do find it hard to find a pair that doesn't just stop right above my ankles -I'm really lanky- im still pursuing the mission. Also I do love a pair with pumps!♥

Something I've always wondered is... unless only skinny jeans can fit you, why wear skinnies when there are other jeans with nicely-defined legs (bootcut, wide-leg, flare, etc.)? Or is it just for the jeans-into-boots look? How breatheable are skinnies?
