Love this! It's extreme and unapologetic in some parts and simple and wearable in others. It's Fashion with a capital F and there no logos or slogans in sight because a strong and unique vision needs neither to make a statement.
I love it. Obviously most of Rick's runway clothes aren't something I'd actually wear, but it makes me dream of an ideal wardrobe and that's what I want from a show.
That last cropped jacket with what the angel wing shoulders makes me imagine I had a long, dirty blonde hair that fell over it and I clutched the jacket with one hand to keep it closed on a cold Paris evening outside a cafe, while holding a cigarette in the other.
I have a crush for Tyrone Dylan (opening look). He is just sexy and fierce and he totally embodies the RO aesthetic.
The collection is definitely hits/misses. The motorcycle pants, the simpler silhouettes are great but the weird prints and the shoulder pads were weird...Not executed with the taste and perfection expected from Rick.
It’s not his best collection but I still love Rick. I just hope that the womenswear won’t be too similar to this.
I love a strong thigh game. But David Bowie reference should be jailed. It's not 2009.
Or is it reasonable to reference 2009 now? Doesn't matter. 80s references should all be jailed.
^^I agree...referencing Bowie is so beyond overplayed...anyone doing a Bowie collection at this point should be embarrassed and I’d even go so far as they deserve to be publicly shamed for subjecting us to something so unoriginal and hackneyed.
This morning I was talking to a friend who was ranting over how much she liked brands like Fear of God, Heron Preston and even Kanye West and I turned to her and said “are you kidding? These people are literally knocking off what Rick Owens did 10 years ago!” And I showed her a slide from Rick Owens F/W 10.11 collection and she was absolutely speechless!
I hope Gen Z’s and young millennials educate themselves on where the real androgynous, architectural, nomadic and edgy concepts these so called “designers” stole from...
It's a miss and hits collection indeed. There are some looks that look totally off but some are greats. Not sure about the one-sided onesies and the shoulders but god, this collection does give me life. It's super fierce and it embodies what a fashion show should do.
A solid collection by Rick! I really love the use of colour, the baby blue is so lovely but striking. In terms of the clothes, I also think there's a good balance between practicality and avant-gardism.
... this is all so fundamentally ridiculous BUT ... this is collection literally kills me with fomo so hard bc I debated enquiring about a couple things and decided meh maybe wait, and then the pandemic happened and production was cancelled and there was ZERO chance of getting any of this besides special ordering. I need to learn to let go and I don't need any of this cringy gimmicky stuff anyways but skldjfnslkdjfnlxdj I can't help but wonder what it'd be like holding and being mesmerized by a pair of ultra-stimulating sparkly stingray platform cowboy boots in the light I just want them as a sculpture for my apartment. Lemme be quiet b4 I embarrass myself further lol
if that is a seriousness that failed and if you, with a kind of love, a tender feeling, have relish here instead of judgement, it is possible. if it is a passionate, naive failure. instead of a deliberate awkwardness.
I just wonder if it with the passage of time can become as charming as, for example, the horse man.
