Agree with Aby and lucky - the jacket looks awesome on you, empaulio! Great choice.

it looks awsome! congrats!

new rick owens on LVR, Im contemplaiting between two, i cant copy the pictures,
they all have padded shoulders, one is leather and one is felt, the felt looks cool but im not familiar with that material...

LVR has some great jackets! The cropped style and tie-neck are my favorites....
Which two styles are you considering, Uniq?
I would go with leather. lucky is right about the pilling, while his leather jackets look better with wear....

The new rick owens up on LVR definitely is amazing, the padded shoulder jackets are so great.
Must say, I prefer the leather one!

oh thanks mona :)

amy, I love the leather one, but love the zip detail on the felt one..aaah, isnt the mink one to die for!!!! the price is just ....

Aby, Mona, Uniq Thank you for the compliments!
Luckyme congrats on your find, the skirt sounds fantastic. This is my first piece of blistered leather & i must say i do love it.

I only ordered it on Sunday from LVR, I was expecting to wait at least a month and a half I received an e-mail yesterday saying it had been dispatched. I was shocked! Even the RO boutiques have not received the AW09 collection as yet.

The Wrap Shoulder Tie jacket looks nice in leather also

empaulio, that looks great, nice pickup. It looks to fit much like my nylon s/s jacket, so no, I don't think it looks feminine.

re: pilling. Two of my RO jackets have a wool collar lining that pills like mad; I think it looks cool, it doesn't bother me a bit. But that may just be me.

i wiki-ed pilling and couldnt find info, i googled it...still unsure of what it means! does it mean like pulling? stringy? ...i guess i know...but why would that happen with that jacket?

From wisegeek.com:

Fabric pilling is the formation of small, fuzzy balls on the surface of a fabric. It detracts from the appearance of the fabric, making it look old and worn, and it is often difficult to restore a garment with fabric pilling to its original condition. Certain types of fibers and weaves are more prone to fabric pilling than others, but it is often a normal part of wear and tear.

Short or loose fibers on the surface of a fabric tend to tangle together, leading to fabric pilling. Fuzzier fabrics, like angora, are particularly prone to fabric pilling, since they are characterized by plentiful loose fibers. In other textiles, fabric pilling occurs either due to the natural tendency of fibers to migrate to the surface of a woven fabric or as a result of friction on the fabric surface, which loosens fibers and tangles them. This friction may be a result of wear and tear, or of improper laundering techniques. Fabric pilling is more likely to occur in areas of the clothing that experience more friction, such as under the arms and on the sides of a sweater.

Uniq, no problem I just took a screen capture.
I must say I love the shearing as it add some luxury to the style, however the felt version I love that too because of the simpleness of the front and that zip looks amazing.
Tough call.

May I also ask if anybody has a blistered leather jacket or other piece? I am asking because I know that each piece has it's own characteristics, but my jacket has a patch on the upper arm right near the seem of the shoulder that is burnt quite alot and the lining is just visible though it. I am not sure if this will get bigger and stretch into a full blown hole with wear?
I know that Ricks pieces each will develop differently but being in an area that will have significant wear is a little concerning.
I just wanted a few of your opinions. :flower:

I kinda like the puff shoulders but they make the jackets more trendy and less classic imo.
