I would like to know what do you people think of them? I live in finland in here and i haven´t seen them so much.. yet.

I just saw two girls wearing "riding boots" going to work this morning, one looked good, the other looked like she was going to riding class, mainly because her pants were white and looked like riding pants ..so I think it has a lot to say what you make out of them, what you wear them with etc... there is actually a riding boots thread in the shoe-section I think. merge?

I live in Finland too and I haven't seen them around here. I have a pair of flat vintage boots that look like riding boots (but they aren't) and I love them to death.

This goes well with the Neo Goth trend in my opinion.... Haven't really seen them around lately though....

Ive started to see them more and more, but ive seen more of so-calld motorcycle boots which i love.

my boots are kind of mix of riding boots and motorcycle boots and i love those!

here are mine, but like I said, they are not really riding boots

I have a pair of real riding boots that I rode in for years, and now I want to know how to rock them out of the stable. Ideas would be greatly apprechiated!

I think they look best over skinny jeans, or with shorts and opaque thighs or maybe with a pencil skirt (I haven't tried the pencil skirt one, but I have a feeling it might look great)

yeah I think those have a heel on them as well.

I think riding boots are quite classic and have been around for ages.

I love ridingboots too. I know that soon people will start wearing them. Next big thing? I belive so..

in theory this is a very strong A/W 05/06 trend...though I'm not seeing it in practice really... I'm not seeing them a lot around here (people seem very reluctant to retire their suede pirate boots and uggs), except on girls who are actually going to their riding lessons.
I wear my riding boots constantly... I don't know how I'd live without them... ^_^

just about every other girl on the streets of nyc is wearing jns tucked into some sort of flat boots...
and also flat boots with a full skirt...
it started on the streets last year and is a full on 'trend' here now...

*urd...
it will be tricky to do with a knee length straight skirt....(can look 'dumpy'..boots have to be VERY tight on your leg or only come to mid-calf)
but very easy with a mini and opaques....(haven't i seen you do that?)..

i think the trend is more about flat boots than riding boots specifically....
but it gives the same effect...

i think we'd see more real riding boots if they weren't so expensive...
it seems that a lot of girls have gotten their hands on vintage boots from the 70's and 80's...
which is obviously the less expensive way to go...
and which is what i am seeing a LOT of downtown...

but this trend seems to go across all age groups and incomes...
yay!...

agreed w/utopia . .
ppl really are reluctant to let go of their suede slouch + pirate boots . .
{i did bring mine out the other day - only b/c it was like -5C}
but i agree w/softgrey
in london mainly . . + cities in general . . {manchester/bristol/leeds}
i've seen lots of girls wearing jeans/trousers tucked into flat leather boots
mostly vintage 80s style ones . . . in red + black + grey
i think it's a great 'trend' . . .
although here it's mainly the 'scenesters' who have picked up on it
+ i know it won't spread like wild fire b/c it won't appeal to evryone
some ppl just don't understand the aesthetic appeal of flat leather boots
all the better for us who do . . . let's leave them to their uggs ;)

when i think of riding boots i think of a classic pair of polos...
very well-cut, simple, and elegant...
i've had my eye on these two pairs for ages
but living in southern california it always seems a bit inappropriate
with 72-degree winter days

but f**k appropriate...
a little irony is always nice...

the first pair is polo ralph lauren for 228
the second is etienne aignier for 163
