Swing Coats?

So I really love how swing coats offset a pencil skirt or skinny jeans and boots. What do you guys think? Love them or hate them? I just got one...on sale because I don't know how it's going to look...opinions? My friend told me it looks like a coat that Madeline (you know, the girl cartoon) would wear. Mine's black though.

swing coats are adorable i've been trying to look for a perfect one with a little bit cropped sleeves and the length setting on my hips. haven't had luck yet.

The Madeline programme was so cute! I used to watch it all the time, it was my favourite
I have a green swing coat, I haven't worn it yet, I'm waiting for Spring because it is too cold at the moment

I work at banana republic and I know we have some swing coats for spring. They are kinda cute but I don't really want one. Too trendy IMO. I like more classic styles for coats so I can wear them in following seasons. I would post pics but the BR website doesn't work for me because my browser doesn't allow cookies.

i got a vintage cropped swing jacket recently at a thrift store and i love it!

unspoiledbird- That is actually not the ones I was thinking of but you're right, that is the right silhouette. The ones I've seen are mandarin collar, cropped puff sleeves, and the jacket is gathered at the high-waist. It is like the bottom is almost a peplum but not quite. I guess kind of a long peplum. It comes in black and taupe tweed as well as suede. I will try to post pics next time I'm at school ( the school computers have less security so I can access more sites. my dad is paranoid and has like highest security on our home network )
