It's carnevale like anywhere else Brazil, Trinidad, Barbados, Notting Hill, Toronto. I guess its a culture thing. Either you get it or you don't.

You can attend a Carnival and wear a Carnival outfit that is classy and you can also act like a lady.The whole "it's the carnival,everybody does this ..." thing is a lame excuse,imo.

This video is from 2009 and this behavior isn't the minority. This is an aspect of carnival. For goodness sake one of the dance moves is called "doin the dog" another is 6:30 (picture your body as the hands of a clock) and yet another is "pooch back".



I do understand if you think it's distasteful in general but it's something else to put it forth as "a Rihanna thing", it's not.
The only shot i was like wtf was the one with her and Leandra? in a butt 69 or something? I think at that point homegirl was just utterly drunk.

Yes culture is great and she is entitled to enjoy herself. However, this is beyond crass and, im sorry, quite reprehesible.

I think people are getting their panties in a knot! Look at that grin on her face. The girl is clearly drinking, dancing and having fun in a riotous atmosphere. As has been said, it's carnival, from what I understand this is pretty par for the course. Beyond that, I don't see anything much more unsavory than the kind of stuff you see at clubs all the time. Has no one ever danced a little dirty here? Come on, loosen up! Sheesh.

This is funny and amazing she can do rude boy, s&m dance raunchy at her concerts, pole dance with brittany spears, writhe on stage with dancers hands between her legs and shimmy atop the phallic cannon of a pink army tank and everyone calls her a fresh, daring, cheeky, rebellious trendsetter.

Then she goes home, partakes in something she did even before she was famous and act like a hometown girl and not like some posh "i've made it you're beneath me celeb" and she gets bashed.
Cultural imperialism much? Anyway y'all must be in the minority because the tourism of many islands is partly built on foreigners flocking to the shores because of carnivals and festivals like this and NO it has nothing to do with sex tourism either.

It's a good thing Rih doesn't give a ______ about what people think hence why she made sure to enjoy herself and she is gonna KILL it in her hometown concert on friday.

^Well said BellaDonna. Most importantly, if ol' gal RiRi had a good time and wasn't hurt, then not much should be said IMO.

I kinda enjoy seeing Rihanna unreserved and not have her nose all turned up as if she too good to be coupled with folks at carnival. Personally, I would like to have seen her in a more elaborate headdress.

this is carnival, i dont understand why anyone would see anything wrong. she is dressed in costume and dancing to the beat like everyone else at the carnival. how comes no one complains when they post pics of half dressed Brazillian Samba dancers gyrating to the floor or when a ballerina stretches out her legs while dressed in a very skimpy leotard. This is her culture not some sexual music video.

what is a classy carnival outfit? IMO being snobbish and trying to act or be classy beats the purpose of carnival. Carnival is a day that you losen up and have a great time

^ i definitely agree. i also agree with the people saying it's nice to see that she's willing to get in with the normal people in the crowd and just have fun like everyone else. i think that takes a level of humility, tbh, as funny as that is to say about bending over and grinding against some guy.
