Well...I'm disappointed that he posed with Terry Richardson. I wish I could say I'm not shocked any more after seeing so many celebrities posing with Richardson but I'm always a tad dismayed when such pictures are released. But I am pleased that Place Beyond The Pines has gotten some good reviews so far, really looking forward to seeing it. As for Ryan taking an acting break, I totally understand it, but don't fret, we'll still see him around for a little while at least because of his directing debut (and one that has a stellar cast).

I'm not surprised he posed with Terry , even though I wished he hadn't at least he looks good.

I'm excited to see The Place Beyond The Pines too. I was really disappointed by Gangster Squad ( not that I expected much after seeing the trailers) but this one looks great. Only God Forgives looks great too, I hope it gets picked up for Cannes.

^But at least he's working hard on his directorial debut! Very curious to see how Ryan's film turns out, it sounds like an interesting story.

Here are a few shots of behind the scenes of How To Catch a Monster...

Also, I highly suggest that fans of Gosling's acting go check out The Place Beyond The Pines which is out now. It was the sort of film that makes you think and was incredibly well done. Ryan was really fantastic, he played his character perfectly.

So i saw Only god forgives yesterday. I personally loved it, but i understand it's one of those love it or hate films (like pretty much every film Nicolas has made, save for Drive, maybe). It's very hypnotic / trippy, slow paced, silent, full of reigious symbolism and very self-indulgent, but that's a winding refn movie at its best. Every Ryan fan will anyway be pleased, i guess. There's a sort of p*rn*gr*ph*c approach to his body, the way it's shot, the way the camera insists on his hands, arms, neck, face.. that should be enough for any fan (ha!). And the violence is there, but it's in no way more excessive than anything NRW has done before, really.
Here's some new stills / backstage pics from the film :

It's interesting you say that, because I noticed that exact kind of thing in DRIVE. Nicolas was always focused really tight on Ryan's face, hands and bulge!! ^_^
He seems to have a bit of a crush on his leading man. :innocent:
Anyway, I'm very excited to see OGF, regardless of what the critics say.

yes, drive had definitely more 'contemplative' moments, but here he took it to another level. it's like part of the films was merely a visual essay on ryan's body. it was intense :D

Thanks for those directing shots Yoninah; I am super curious to see how he fares behind the camera because we all know he rocks in front of it.

I saw Only God Forgives... someone please explain me those pics of him training as pre prod!!! LOL I was expecting something more than Drive set in asia but still a good movie imo.

meh, i thought it was the worst movie ever. i made it til the end only because i was expecting something to happen but... :ermm:
