Fri, 13 May 2011 Ryan Gosling: 'Idolmaker' Star & Director!

Ryan Gosling is stepping both in front of and behind the camera for his next project.

The 30-year-old actor will star and make his directorial debut in a remake of the 1980 movie, The Idolmaker, Deadline reports.

The original film told the “story about the life of rock promoter/producer Bob Marcucci, who discovered Frankie Avalon and Fabian.”

Ryan, who’s at the Cannes Film Festival this week to premiere his latest film, Drive, also most recently worked on Crazy, Stupid, Love and The Ides of March.

Cinema For Peace – 05/18

Ryan is currently at Cannes for the 64th Festival. But before his film Drive premieres on Friday 20th he attended ‘Cinema For Peace’ an event which is in support of Haiti honoring Sean Penn for his work towards the relief.

He joined Harvey Weinstine and philanthropist Ella Krasner.

I like him in grey and I like the face fuzz, I even think I quite like the shoes. I was in the same hotel as him this morning and there was an audible gasp from women as he walked past, was so funny!

Some stay out of town at the Hotel du Cap or elsewhere but the Matinez, Majestic & Carlton are basically the centre of everything during the festival. A lot of press is done is done at them, there's parties and presentations etc etc as well as people staying there. I don't know whether he's staying at mine or just there for press. Security is ridiculous you need passes just to get in and out your hotel! Anyway he looks really rather lovely in the flesh, was just dressed in a t shirt, jeans and sunglasses. He didn't really do much for me before but I'm being swayed! So much for professionalism!

He looks really good even though I'm not fond of the outfit. He also looks more tanned, I'm liking it.

he wore those same shoes last year at cannes. not a fan of the shoes or the hipster-glasses. but whatever, he's a guy. (without a girlfriend at the moment...to help him with his style hahah). he looks so good in sunglasses. and a super clean-cut look...as in the pictures below. i dont think anyone wears those kind of eye-glasses for prescription purposes. i think its all about "the look" of them.
