I guess I was right. The big one on his left arm is from a children's book called The Giving Tree (I read that when I was a kid) by Shel Silverstein, who also did the illustrations.

Ryan Gosling shows off his biceps in a red tank while leaving the gym on Monday (February 6) in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 31-year-old actor has been working on his new movie, Only God Forgives, a crime thriller about “a Bangkok police lieutenant and a gangster [who] settle their differences in a Thai-boxing match.”

Later in the week, Ryan left his hotel en route to the set of the film, which is being helmed by his Drive director, Nicolas Winding Refn.

Girlfriend Eva Mendes is also in town with Ryan, where she enjoyed a solo excursion to pick up up some local street food

Thank you for these recent pictures and videos. I just watched Crazy, Stupid Love for the first time in celebration.

I preferred him in Drive; he was so otherworldly and sad and heroic. I wanted to hold him. Aww. He's one hot guy! My favourite scene in Crazy Stupid Love was with Emma at his house, the night she uncovers his facade and he becomes real, not just a slimy womanizer. That's when I warmed up to his character. But in Drive he just seemed so broken, so exploited, and yet so kind-hearted, like he really wanted something meaningful. And yet, he sacrifices everything for others. Sad. It was such a controlled and yet insane performance. He really should've been nominated for an Oscar!
