S/S 06 Catwalk Trends

I'm so sick of the whole Black/navy/red combo now, so the new paler palette would definitely be a much welcomed fresh breath

what are dominant colors for s/s/ 2006?

reading from the posts: lilac, yellow gold (marigold/maize), royal blue, white, metallics (silver and gold)

what do you think about fuschia pink, orange, red, canary yellow, apple green and turquoise?

TIA

orange is definetly in, apple green and turquoise are there as 'accents' ;)

Orange is in,
Gold (from darker zaferano and mustard shades to subtler gold-beige.)
Lilac
Grey/ Grey-blue/ Silver/ Grey-lilac/ and all indefinible shades in between

And of course WHITE & BLACK

Trends that will hit the high street:
1. Just below the knee pensil or A- line skirts in solid colours with flower motifs.
2. Shorts in beige and gold
3. Short-waisted, clean cut jackets with no collar.
4. Ties, in muted colours

A favourite trend? Definetely the short-sleeved silk/ satin/ organza shirts worn with ties and super romantic, knee length frilly skirts. Combined with ballerina flats for more sophistication of flat golden sandals and honey-coloured limbs. :flower:

Clean-cut shorts for those in possession of chilometric pins, with skinny tops and cool shirt-like silk and chiffon jackets. Oversized bag is a MUST!!
Shoes: as above. Ballerina flats in tan/ beige/ gold and lavish sandals.

god you guys are gurus :p i finally feel like i fit in somewhere; it's quite amazing how little australians actually follow designers and runway trends. although this season appears to be more wearable and consumer friendly, i think the approach most designers have taken is really clever. to me, it seems as if they have all chosen to focus on particular inspirations, rather than drawing from many to create a new look. they have instead exaggerated these inspirations through their labels' trademark style. donna karan's sixties postmodern art inspiration can be seen through the patterns and primary colour pallete as well as the simplicity of the sillhouettes. luella's upperclass inspiration in the sharp tailoring, stripes, sweaters, bright colours and fabrics (sequins! :D) giving it richness and marc by marc jacobs ballet inspiration; sporty cuts using pastel colour pallete are just some examples of designers who have cleverly invested in this technique, which, in itself is very innovative as they are not merely borrowing and combining trends but re-interpretting and modernising. however, one of my favourite labels, libertine, to me don't appear to have this approach- they are so unique, god bless em :woot:

LISOC,

You surely know your subject!!

Well, designers for the past couple of years -and with the departure of Yves Saint Laurent marking a new era for fashion- have had to adjust into creating fashion accessible to all types of individuals and markets.
Have had to re-interpretate and fuse haute couture into ready-to-wear, creating a new ibrid fashion that is no longer about inspiration and creativity and exclusivity but about clever marketing strategies and business. Now anyone who has money can buy a designer's item. It becomes all about STATUS!!

Thus said, i'm not about to change the subject of this thread- just merely stating my opinion. It's just as always- Fashion reflects the era we live in!!

Juicy colors!!

Have you noticed The juicy colors? And the kind of ethnic-bohemian stuff. Fabulous !! If they were still shooting "Sex and the city" carrie would have those clothes on! Can't wait to reorganise my wardrobe ^_^

i blame one man for this trend -- "Will.I.Am" from the Black Eyed Peas. If you look back at all those MTV award shows and "B.E.P." videos, he's donning what ought to be hung up in M.C. Hammer's closet. Instead they were mistaken for women's newest trend.
I suppose i can't deny them; with the right design, cut and body-type, they can be pulled off... but so can art-*** haircuts. They should read on the lable, beside "Dry Clean Only," "Intended for Trendsters and Models Only."

I'm excited about SS looks, colors and fabrics. Very inspiring! Thanks to all who posted.

Emilio Pucci

I Just love Emilio Pucci collection. It's the essence of the summer trends. Delicate fabrics, geometrical patterns, subtle but rich colors. Those clothes on taned models screams " Summer", " Holidays" and " Beach". Swimwear is sexy. It's trendy to be feminine ;)

Spring Colors

 DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE COLORS ARE FOR SPRING 2006?PLS TELL ME.
