S/S 2006 Ads

wow, i don't like the Missoni ads. Drew is not a model and it shows in this ad that she doesn't know what she's doing.

I like Dolce ads, although the mirrors from Fall 05 are hard to beat. Undecided about the D&G, Heather looks great though.

Natalie looks stunning in those pics. Can't say the same about drew, her pictures are just meh

The resembalance is uncanny.
The Missoni campaign would have rocked if they actually used a model. The colors, clothes, and background bounce well off each other, but with Drew the ambiguity is ruined...

Thanks to nELL for posting those Missoni pics.

I know exactly what everyone is saying about the commonality and hackneyed pressence of the new Missoni ads. There are only so many pairings of purple and green lighting that can be used before you start to notice it (i.e. the Portman ed, Louis Vuitton with Uma, the Miss Sixty with Asia ads). There are only so many times you can use a washed out finish, antique look that Prada did awhile back. Furthermore the celebrity thing is obviously tiring. However, I think Drew Berrymore is gorgeous. I don't care what anyone else says, I've always found her to be stunning. Yes, she's not a model, but that's why she's being used in this campaign. She's used for her likeness, her lifestyle, her celebrity is used from a commercial aspect to attract viewers. Granted for people like the majority of us that post here who are more concerned with the aesthetic approaches of these ads, we'd obviously perfer a real model. People from the business world and adverstising sectors of the world, are much more interested in using a celebrity that readers and customers know and relate to. Still, I think they could have pick plenty of worse celebrities, especially some who don't photography as well as Drew does.

As for the others ads we've seen. I think the Dolce and Gabbana ads are gorgeous. I love how effortless Snejana, Jeisa, and Raquel Zimmermann look in the ad. I think Caroline looks a little to sexy compared to the other girls, but I still think her and Gemma are great additions.

Any chance someone can post the rest of the D&G adverts and campaigns. I love Heather Marks and cannot wait to see the rest of them.

Thanks again guys and girls for all your hardwork!

hey, i was thinking perhaps the mods should pin this thread the way f/w 2005 was pinned, and then unpin the fall/winter one since there arent very many (if any) new ones coming out. just a suggestion :flower:

at this point i can only hope prada, yves saint laurent, and chloe will not disappont. :flower:

oh, the fall chloe advertisements were so great they made me shed a tear.

IT HAD TO BE DREW

MISSONI cited "strength" and "positivity" as the reasons for choosing Drew Barrymore as the face of their spring/summer '06 collection. In an interview with The Sunday Times Style, Angela Missoni, who runs the fashion house, said she admired how the star overcame her difficult childhood to, by 30, accomplish superstardom as both an actress and as a successful producer, with her production company, Flower Films, churning out hits like Never Been Kissed and 50 First Dates. Despite such success at such a young age, Missoni believes that Barrymore's beauty comes from her down-to-earth attitude: "She's special because she's normal," says Missoni. "She has a real life, and you can see that." (December 19 2005, AM

I think the campaign is ok, it's not horrible, but it's not new either.
