Sacai F/W 2022.23 Paris

Wow! This show is the star of PFW. I don't even need to click on the other threads. I just know they'll be crap in comparison.

Minus a few pieces here and there, I looks like she's pretty much moving on from that cut-and-paste aesthetic that she's hammered down these past years, all while maintaining her own unique style, which I love seeing.

I'm not seeing a single weak piece here. Everything looks exceptional..nothing average, nothing silly, nothing that's flat-out hideous, and nothing that makes you think, "Huh?" (like those Paradise Garage pieces from a few years ago.) And it's all very cohesive and tightly edited. As far as runway shows go, she fills the void left by Dries + Ann.

And then you factor in the other elements, like the venue, the lights, the cast, hair + make-up, accessories, styling..all coming together to create something incredibly beautiful.

Big round of applause for her and her team.

It’s not her best (her collection for Gaultier is very hard to beat for me) but it’s a great comeback to the Paris scene which picks up right where she left in March 2020. The fit and flare oversized bombers are so good.

I agree that the cast/styling/venue could hardly have been any better, it’s an incredibly high quality showing which puts to shame many heritage brands…imagine if she helmed Givenchy!

Her best collection in a longtime…Mostly because she eliminated all her gimmicks and concentrated on one silhouette. Her clothes have never looked lighter than this and the result is that it’s absolutely desirable!
The first 4 looks, the knitwear, the trench-coat look, the long dresses…Perfect!

Never thought about her but you are totally right! She has an identity and she proved with Gaultier that she can do great things with the archives…And make their Couture relevant again.

Love it as well! Glad she got over her 'hybrid' clothing phase. The red trench is amazing.
