Sacai F/W 2015.16 Paris

she and lutz are the best imo when it comes to creating a hybrid of sportif and sophisticated. it's no wonder nike got her to do a line for them. amazing collection...very daring. doesn't feel overly indulgent but it's inventive and somehow also very familiar. that jacket with the macrame is stunning....may seem a bit garish as an idea, but her execution is bar none.

i like this collection a lot, but i can't help but be reminded of nicholas ghesquiere's balenciaga. in terms of silhouette, shape, and style, his fall 2006 collection immediately came to mind.

wasn't she a knitwear designer at comme?
i just realized that ALL of my sacai pieces are knits!
:o...

i guess that is where i think she excels...
and this collection is a great example of that...
i LOVE what this woman can do with the very classic aran fisherman sweater...
and i love the silhouettes this season...

last season i commented on how many skirts she did...
and this time it's ALL skirts- except for some culottes...
^_^

^she was a pattern designer at comme which makes a lot of sense too considering her cutting. she went on to be assistant to junya.

btw,did you guys know her husband is junichi abe who is the designer behind kolor? i never knew...just learning. not quite as interesting as she is though,i must admit.
