Sacai S/S 2023 Paris

Wow, this is so good, great clothes with great styling. I'm obsessed.

I see flashes of Nicolas Balenciaga and a little bit of JPG.
I'm in love with the purple trench coat. The best piece of the collection.
Great wearable clothes are backup with great cuts and details. The smooth transition between sharp daytime tailoring to glamorous nighttime is just perfection.

Another great collection Abe.

I still wish she had that Balenciaga gig tbh. She would've carried on the house legacy without losing her own aesthetic (her penchant for hybrid fabrics and unusual cutting would have blended well with the codes of the house). This is another hit for me, even though I'm still ambivalent towards those bell-bottom pants. To me, some--not all--of the looks that include those pants would have been a lot stronger without them. Nevertheless, I love how a lot cleaner yet still interesting her proposition is. As much as I love Abe's design, she does have a tendency to over-complicate an item (i.e. a jacket of hers can contain anything from multiple zippers to a floaty volume to an off-kilter collar). I've seen none of that over-complication here.

Look 1, Look 2, Look 7, Look 8, Look 17, Look 26, and Look 32 are some of the best looks of the entire fashion month. Look 8, in particular, should be a benchmark of how streetwear is done moving forward. It has a playful, somewhat elegant austerity that doesn't compromise streetwear's pragmatism.

It’s definitely simpler and has this more mature, yet fresh feeling for her. I love the slight hints of glamour and bourgeois in this. Maybe she should go to Givenchy if they don’t choose Haider. (Look at me already replacing Matthew even though it isn’t official he’s going anywhere, even though he is I am sure lol.)

Best show of the season. Absolutely fabulous.

Made my day. Everyone was really excited at the show. Thankfully we have Sacai in Paris

unbelievable! so so good! bravo!

Lovely show and collection; Chitose seems to be really zooming back into her comfort zone since making a return to the runway post Covid last season. A great, spirited take on suit dressing throughout. Those Rick Owen-esque flares look great, especially towards the end in silver. A fantastic cast to boot as well. Not much more you can ask for these days!

Very wearable but also quite elaborate and ambitious from a construction stand point: The way that everything is built around top-stitched pleats gives the collection a unique play between volume and rigour.

It’s all quite ingenious throughout but the one that takes the cake is look 11 which gives the illusion of consisting of a sweater and a tracksuit jacket wrapped around the forearms like a stole but is actually all one piece. Magical cutting.

love the cast overall
never a fan of "bell" bottoms but somehow she makes them look both fresh & cool here - just like the rest of the collection

A little ambivalent at first, but it grew on me very quickly.

This is all rather different for her so it's an exciting direction I will be honest. Feels a lot more streamlined, perhaps commercial in some parts but it's exciting when you see a designer find that great balance between something accessible and something that still fits their world. Doesn't lose the essence of experimentalism and this strange utilitarian excess she goes for.

Several pairs too many of the bell bottoms, and the slogan shirt is a bit odd, but the majority of it works really well and makes sense. Will be interested to see what F/W brings with this approach from Sacai, very intrigued indeed.

How can she still deliver such an amazing collection with her tricks?
It's so Sacai, and so much to appreciate. I'm really glad she developed her own style and whenever I saw some designers work, I can immediately spot the Sacai reference, like Phoebe's Celine. But her stuffs is so expensive, I wish i can afford them all !!!
