Sacai S/S 2024 Paris

the long lean trousers are delightful; the clean white section (that oversized vest!); the distorted fairisle sweaters & striped shirts; the sheer elements: it's all so desirable

I love the clothes the blue stripes pièces call my name…
But I’m a bit bored by the same old styling with chunky boots. Repetition is good to install an identity but her clothes standout anyway. It’s maybe time to challenge the shoe proposition for once.

I like the upper part of this dress, an interesting top. I would get a pair of scissors and I would get rid of the hanging lower part.

Again, this collection doesn't translate as well to still images compared to in motion. You want to get a look at the back of each piece. I like the oversized shirts with the kind of balloon sleeve and then the feathery/fringed looks that start with the one on Ida.

Still, I would say that I'm a bit underwhelmed (this fashion season has been beyond boring) and this is perhaps my least favourite Sacai collection this decade, or since S/S 2010 at least. There's always something good in Chitose's collection but this didn't reach the heights of S/S 2023 or last season for me.

Stills really don't do this justice. Love a lot of this and the lightness she has brought which is interesting for her to explore. Like Ghesquière's LV, also love the play with stripes. And those trousers are fabulous (even though I know I'm not tall enough for them to work).

The shoes though. Can we go beyond a heavy soled flatform?

Ditto on the clunky boots. They do work when styled with the trousers but started to come off a bit juvenile when styled with dresses. She can get rid of the stocking as well. I do love the majority of the collection but something gives off a slight "been there, done that" vibe and yes, it's probably due to the styling. With some killer heels, these would look a lot fresher.

Definitely my favourite collection this season, practicality mixed with elements of sensuality and freedom.

Bravo!

When compared to the great ease and innovation of her recent collections this one comes off as quite contrived and not entirely cohesive…watching the video does make me appreciate the collection a bit more since the care taken to make the garments interesting from the back is always a welcome deviation from the overall trend of designing for the screen.

The looks with the trompe-l’oeil décolletage are probably the strongest but it’s all lost in a sea of so-so ideas.

gorgeous collection once again. this show is always so good to watch, the red and green she has done it before but it's still so good.

agreed on the shoes, it got a bit tired and a bit too heavy on every single look but nevertheless it's one of the best shows in paris.
