Saint Laurent Mens S/S 2015 Paris

Love the mood of the collection. The styling is nice. But to be honest, I could find very similar pieces in vintage shops. Why would I spend load of money on Saint Laurent? He needs to start designing things.

the set is great and i like the music again, i think there are a few cool pieces but i don't know..i wish he would have switched it up a little at some point though, really

like others say it isnt worth the money it doesnt make me want to buy it...

To be fair this collection is the most interesting compares to others he did at SL. The only problem is there's no creativity or something incredible that we expected from a designer like Hedi.

Does someone know where I can find HQ pics of the show? /never mind I found it lol.

I actually like the show really much... it's kind of intriguing

Is the abundance of accessories is trying to make up for the dullness of the clothes? Age-old Slimane argument: good stylist, poor designer.

Over-hyped gimmicks. However as always the craftmanship is admirable.

Looks like clothes you would buy in one of those thrift stores that also sells pipes and hookahs

god it's like a poor-man's anna sui....endlessly redundant.

I didn't know LA was a fashion capital.lol I'm sorry but just because people from hollywood wear it means the whole world agrees.

Ok, I'm really in favor of this collection. I think it's a fresh breath of air, especially considering the casting! Everywhere else you see the Brazilian hot-bodies, whereas hedi's proposing something different. I think the clothes hang perfectly on the models and make the garments look special. I like the jackets, you can see the incredible tailoring that goes into making them. the embroidery is beautiful. what about the pants? they might look like regular pipe-cleaners to most, but look closely, they're also embroidered and I like the skinny "edge" to them...

I honestly don't think this collection is as bad as many of you think...

Umm Los Angeles is a fashion capital. But it's lesser known. However it's #2 in the United States after New York. Plus Los Angeles is #1 for fast fashion as well.

Admittedly, I thought of Anna too when I first glanced at this offering. But, as costume-y, and as hippie-festival as it all is here-- Hedi's stuff always does looks expensive. It is redundant, but he never fails at making it all look expensive. No one can take that away from him.

I like Hedi's aesthetic, and I like how faithfully-- or stubbornly, he still sticks to his skinny look. But this insistence on always presenting a (retro) music-related aesthetic in his presentation is so boring. How long can he revise Teddy Boys, the psychedelic 60s, the glam-rockers of the 70s, and the new wavers of the 1980s, grunge-- even the young indie scene in California (which is just more retro), before his style becomes a caricature version of fashion's "Rock Legends" and the SL label becomes a predictable caricature of the ultimate wannabe-rock star's wardrobe for rich kids? (Those intricately embroidered, weaved, knitted embellishments on some pieces are always beautiful-- but the same argument could be made for Eli Saab; does that make a collection interesting, though?)

All the same, those defending him by insisting that just because he's doing the opposite of the boxy and minimalist trend in fashion, or he's not conforming to season-appropriate colorful, breezy suits and ties, doesn't give him an automatic pass, either. And taking inspirations from indie LA kids and mixing it with literal fashions of a time in musical history doesn't automatically equate style, either.

I'm starting to feel that a short film/ extended music video would be much more tolerable (even interesting and entertaining, and maybe even impressive), accompanied by a showroom presentation where buyers/ press can get up close and personal with the pieces, than a traditional fashion show for his collections-- which does bore me senseless, with these gormless kids stomping down the runway so void of any presence.

I always thought it would be the future. But it's not coming yet. That's a shame.

Especially nowadays when there are more and more and more shows. Isn't it weird that while people are eating pure, clean and organic, high fashion has just become another junk/fast-to-consume object.

Sometimes I wonder how some labels survive in this jungle.
You know that there's this (somehow weird) theory that one should get rid of population to live in a better world, well I think, instead of "getting rid of people" we should get rid of some the current labels. I know everyone now want to express him/her-self.... But seriously. Do we need.....

oops flying over the subject of this thread.

coming back to it >>>>
Keith Richards, Sailor & Lula, Rock n Roll. yeah yeah yeah. this is nice. blablabla.

I like the boots, though.

for those of you who say Hedi is the worst fashion designer, you must not know what style is. i live in Los Angeles, California and these clothes are consistently a part of the LA culture.

if you see something constantly somewhere, that makes it trendy, which is not the same thing as stylish.

the reason why a lot of you dislike this collection because is not like any other usual collections that present every fashion week.

no, the reason many don't like it is because it looks like uninspiring thrift shop garbage.

Who needs another one of those collection where there are nothing but suits, linen, ties, sandals, and button up for spring. He's the only one that chooses to focus on a different aspect of style and i think he did it fantastically.

If all you see is suits and ties, you are looking at something else than the current collections for example from Paris, because very few had classic mens wear. You can be original without making something that looks like repetitive crap, though Hedi is good at that.

The pants are fantastic, don't like anything else though. Roskilde, rock n roll - Mick Jagger swag. Thanks but no thanks!

does one have to have super skinny legs to wear saint laurnent menswear

Saint Laurent Paris clothes have good cuts, I have to admit and there are cool pieces in the collection. The point is, I don't know if you agree, he changed completly the ADN of the house for a rock n' roll guy and girl that are constantly being repeated collection after collection. Saint Laurent stopped being the YSL we were used to, and that's what is need to bring back. The values, culture and image of a house like this one.

It's time to say goodbye Slimane.
