yeah ok they might have lv bag but the rest of the outfit is all h&m or some track pants.. yuck! i see LOTS of fakes around too. i cant stand the monogram bag..whats so special about it? i heard that helsinki would get its first lv store soon, i hope not though..it would totally ruin the awesome individual street scene here which comes from the creativity and lack of stores like that.
what i tried to say is that.. we have not been exposed to too much high fashion here as the case would be in london, milan or paris..that really has an effect on the style here.

^thanks, I really like the grey sweater-dress on the girl in the first pic and the parka on the girl in the second pic

I think that the girl in the first pic is wearing almost only h&m, I know the sweater-dress, scarf and jacket is, probably the hat and leg-warmers as well

I don't think these were ever posted. From Stockholm [the sartorialist]

I would say that Norwegians are definitly getting better and more influental in fashion.

Peter Dundas is moving from Ungaro to Dolce & Gabbana and Kristian Aadnevik as a protegé for Versace.

I think that a lot has happened in Norway for the past two years, but we're no New York, and we probably never will be. Chain stores have been a curse and a blessing, Zara has actually made us better dressed. :)
We do have some great niche stores, but they're mainly in the Frogner area. (small part of Oslo).

If you look at our country as a whole, we look pretty good and we dress ok. We dress amazing if you compare us to the average american joe (overweight, wearing old t-shirts and unfitted jeans).

If you compare us to the metropolitan capitals (NY, Paris, London, Milan), we dress like hicks, though.

I'd say that the average Norwegian often dress much better than the average person in another country, but the very well dressed people of Norway is bad dressed in comparison to the very well dressed people of other countries.

The lows are high but the highs are low :flower:

i agree. it also goes a bit with taste here in America. aside from fashion conscious cities like NYC and LA (sometimes), the rest of America would never be caught dead wearing some clothing that European conscious cities find to be in style. like for example, what that man is wearing up there, i'm sure you'd only find a few who'd wear that in America (aside from the big cities)

That is SO TRUE! even in sweden
Karma!

I think "classic style" is not in right now, because too many people think it's boring. I think it's refreshing to see people who wear simple and stylish pieces bc that's not so common anymore, everyone's so "indie". I do not represent classic style imo, but I respect it, it's inspirational. Beige, white, black and brown can be very stylish and elegant, it's all about how you carry yourself :)

thx for the new pics! They're great!I really wish to go to scandinavia some day and experience their styles!

Ehh, somehow I doubt that all the creativity is just due to the lack of multinational chains or high end labels... The people here who could afford stuff there already dress boring. And the kids who do dress creatively don't have much to spend on clothes anyway, and probably couldn't care less about commercial brand fashion anyway.
