Seattle Street Style

I go to school in Seattle - so I really do hear what you're saying. I have often had to sit through a 2-hour class while my wool coat smelled like a wet dog and wondering if it would be ok to wring out my pant legs in the bathroom.

But I still would rather carry a small umbrella in my bookbag. That's when I hear "An umbrella? You're not from around here, are you?"

marla, I truly don't care about other people either (or I wouldn't carry an umbrella and take the constant crap for it) but I have to look cute for me, you know? Otherwise, I'll have a bad day!

I'm moving to olympia in a few months, which is..somewhat close to seattle. Anyone know how the street style is there? I'm so excited to be moving.

I've always thought of Olympia as funkier than Seattle in some ways. But that's probably the Evergreen college influence. In the few times I've been there, I noticed a lot of cool DIY type stores.

On the other hand, there's the conservative Capitol, where you have all the politicians in town during the legislative session. We know they aren't fashionable!

OH, downtown Olympia is really funky because of all the hippies from Evergreen, and the evergreen campus is even funkier.

Why are you moving there?

Going to school there; Evergreen. As some others have mentioned, it is quite a hippy/liberal campus (I don't really dress hippy/crazy DIY style, though..), so I was just wondering about the rest of the city. Thanks for the input from some of you guys, though.
