Scarlett Johansson Relationship Thread

i don't think its a surprise, i always thought he and alanis should've stayed together....

i have to admit that i thought the same when he split with alanis and hooked up with scarlett

1)She got bored.

2)Their offspring would be so freakishly beautiful that no human could live after seeing them ... so it's good for us all.

^It was also reported that he left her. But their official statement was..........

Their reps, Dvora Vener and Meredith O'Sullivan, tell PEOPLE in a joint statement, "Ryan Reynolds and Alanis Morissette have mutually decided to end their engagement.

`i recall reading that he wanted to get married and alanis didn't.... so they split.... he seems so down to earth and Scarlett is so Hollywood....i just don't see what the big deal is, imo they were never a good match. even though they are both hot.

^ Funny you say that. My mom works with a relative of Ryan and it has been said that the family preferred Alanis over Scarlett because she was more down to earth. This was before they got married.

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds Were Like 'Brother and Sister' on Vacation

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds announced on Tuesday they were divorcing after almost two years of marriage. The news came as a shock to some, but not to onlookers in Switzerland who were puzzled with their lack of affection on a trip in August.

Sources told gossip website RadarOnline.com: “There was no kissing, no hugging, no arm-around-the-shoulder, no public displays of affections that would seem perfectly appropriate for a couple married fewer than two years.

“They hiked through the Swiss Alps with Scarlett snapping photographs. They rarely held hands and while they didn’t argue in public there seemed to be no passion between them.”

It has also been claimed the couple’s public date to New York nightspot Avenue last month was not a celebration for Scarlett’s 26th birthday, but a break from a long weekend they had set aside “to talk” about their marital woes.

Sources told the New York Daily News newspaper the couple “tried to hold it together” as they spent Thanksgiving with the actress’ family, but Scarlett later told Ryan she wanted a divorce, which the actor agreed to following a two-week trial separation.

Scarlett Johansson Jets to Jamaica Post Split

Scarlett Johansson enjoys a sunny day with some gal pals on Tuesday (December 14) in Jamaica.

The 26-year-old actress enjoyed a holiday with her friends the same day she and Ryan Reynolds announced they were separating.

“There’s no third party,” a source told People about the couple’s decision to split.

“Ryan and Scarlett had been having some issues for a few months now. Distance and their careers played a big role. When you don’t spend a lot of time with your partner you grow apart,” added the source.

Ryan, 34, meanwhile has been filming a movie in Atlanta.

justjared.

Interesting. But I can see that.

And to go from Alanis to Scarlett - that's interesting, too.

^ It is interesting ... to me they're polar opposites. Maybe I just don't get it  Alanis seems all edge, Scarlett not so much ...

Many of you keep asking us why we weren't exactly shocked at the news of Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds divorcing.

True, we doubt a lot of Hollywood marriages, but this one didn't unravel because the whole thing was a sham. And it didn't unravel because Ry got his flirt on with Blake Lively.

So what really happened?

READ: What Did Blake Have To Do With It?

It's simple, and what we've been telling you for over a year now:

They never saw each other.

"They were together probably three months their entire marriage," spills a source, who is not exactly over-exaggerating. "They just grew apart. It was never like ‘we want to split.' But they just both gave in to the reality that they were never together."

The couple, who tied the knot in 2008, have both enjoyed extremely successful careers in the past two years and it finally took a toll on their relationship.

"Work never even allowed them to get a chance to spend enough time together," adds the knowledgeable insider.

But that's not to say the gorgeous duo didn't try.

Apparently ScarJo and Reynolds would set aside one month a year and spend it together regardless.

"Last year they spent a month in Europe and didn't work the whole month."

Geez, one whole month does not a marriage make? You don't say!

"It hasn't been easy for either one of them," emphasizes the pal. "They still care deeply about each other. It didn't end on bad terms."

So what's next for the newly single babes?

Apparently Johansson is not giving up on love.

"She wants a family once she finds the right guy with enough confidence to deal with her celebrity."

Sassy!

Somehow we get the feeling the breakup might not have been all rainbows and butterflies as it would appear.

Although I didn't think they would last, I feel bad for them. It's gotta suck to split up before the holidays. Isn't Blake dating Ryan Gosling though?

Looks like the reconciliation has already begun...

When they announced their split, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds said they wanted to continue to show love and kindness toward each other.

That was certainly how they appeared Friday night as they got together for what a source tells PEOPLE was a "friendly meal" at Blue Ribbon restaurant in New York. "They were smiling and laughing the whole time," the source says.

Johansson, 26, had just returned from a trip to Jamaica with girlfriends and Reynolds, 34, was in town for a photo shoot during a break from filming in Atlanta.

"They just wanted to connect and have a friendly chat," the source says. "They just wanted to sit down together. The tone was light and fun despite the untruths that the media is working up.
They aren't reconciling. This was just two people who were married being civil and friendly."

Sources say the pair, who were married in 2008, had grown apart because the demands of their busy schedules.

i love hollywood...it's meet, f**k, marriage and then sometimes the dating and getting to know one another actually happens somewhere down the line.

^ I often wonder why they're in such an all-fired hurry to get married ... 'cause they have money to burn? Looks to me like he's the one who wanted to do it and she caved ... for awhile. Maybe overexposure to the movies has them all believing in romance or something
