the marios schwab dress is great - the colour, and bubble like sequins/jewels
thanks for the scan..

Prefer it as a skirt or a top rather than a dress it's too much !

Reminds me of when Primark started attracting people looking to mix expensive and cheap and that sequin bolero that everyone had and then the Burberry sequin dress copy that Sienna Miller wore and probably made it's debut at lots of Christimas office parties.

I think though less glitz and more edgy and it can look amazing. I really love dries use of sequins as well. I don't know perhaps metallic tones are too obvious and Liberace and that's why I'm not so keen. I really admire people who can carry it off though !

i have to say that i am loving the sequin trend. its perfect for nights out.

it is really trickling down to the mall stores right now. paris hilton's junior line has garments with a ton of sequins on them.

:sick:Paris Hilton has a juniors line?

I do love sequins! They bring instant glam to some outfits. I especially like black or soft gold sequin pieces.

diamond star, I LOVED Emmanuelle Seigner's dress at Cannes, it looks stunning in HQ and the color is just.. :zorro::heart:

generally I think this looks too las vegas but sequins can be nice in small doses.

the modern way to wear sequins is for DAY...
layered UNDER something very basic and matte in texture or something sheer so that it tones down the sequins...

this is how you see magazine editors dressing right now...
mixing textures...with an irreverance...

ie- silver sequin tank peeking out from the bottom of a grey s/s american apparel t shirt with black shorts and blk patent birks...
*it's all about mixing textures...THAT is the trend...sequins are just a part of that...
:flower:

we talked about that during the fall shows i believe...

I like the sequin mini skirts that Reiss make, they somehow don't look tacky or cheap. It can look so chic for evening wear if mixed with the right fabrics:

I like sequins, in a moderate way. Recently bought a black sequined tank top, and thinking of combining it with a mix of leather, black denim/cotton (pants) and maybe something white and sheer. Don´t want to look like something from a circus :P

Doh!!! :hardhead:

There was this gorgeous sequined Prada skirt that I saw at Marshall's on Sunday and I was debating whether or not I should have gotten it...I put it back on the rack, and now after seeing this thread, I am totally regretting doing that!

And oh, here's the kicker...the aforementioned skirt was only $30.00 (USD)!!!!!!!!

I love this trend. I think a flash of sequins is so refreshing to see during the day. If paired well, it doesn't look tacky at all. Jil Sander does it really well.

Miaou - Prada sequin skirt for only 30 bucks?!?!?! I feel your pain!

There was definitely a time, not too long ago, when sequins weren't exactly the last word in cool... I know from the reactions I got while wearing a fully-sequinned, otherwise simple shirt, which ranged from looks of sympathy to outright horror. But my love for sequins required no one's acceptance, and we lived happily ever after, with just each other for support...

Neiman Marcus has showcased their sequinned items in an installment of what they call "Very Important Trends", or (you guessed it) V.I.T.

Oh, I know those looks! I hate it when people are close-minded about clothing! When I go shopping, I'm always open to interesting pieces, but my friends give me weird looks all the time and say, "ok, you wear that".
