thank you! the only part i am not happy with is the way the zipper went in. im debating whether i should take it out and just put a snap or leave the zipper in....

i've been wanting to make a dress like this for so long. I think I can figure out most of it. the only thing im not sure about is the sleeves. Do any of you know, are the sleeves separate and sewn on? if so what is the arm hole like? if not whats that like? I just can not figure out the sleeves. maybe someone knows where I can find a similar pattern.

if i were making it, i'd cut the sleeves separate from the bodice. i dont think you'd be able to get the gathers or the fullness if it was all one piece.

So..I made this bag today..and I'm suprised it didn't give me more trouble..since my machine (along with most sewing machines) don't sew well on 2-3 layers ..of leather..

was initially inspired by the Hermes Trim/Gucci Jackie-o Bag...but then also veered off towards the Marc Jacobs Tie Bag..

*please do not quote pictures*

Khoipond,
there is no doubt that your bag are so impressing!!!:woot::woot:

my built by wendy pattern seems to be never-ending
it's taking me forever!
i only work on it probably a good 35 minutes each day because i am making it in a 45- minute class..but still you wouldn't think it would take this long.

a recent project i finished. new zealand lambskin, vintage buttons with silver hardware and deerskin lining.

hhahahaha...actually i just sorta go to it and see what comes out of the hides i work with...but if you have a particular question, i'd be happy to try and answer it :flower:

Actually I wanted to know what kind of sewing machine you use and if you buy your leather online or if you just gomto leather shops in you area.

i actually used to use my mom's vintage brother, but right now im just using a basic singer i picked up at target for around $100. i order my leather mostly from an ebay seller called 'leatherwise'. i haven't been able to find lambskin anyhere else for a better price or better quality than his. he sells leather to the mock-croc company, and he has single hides of some really unique stuff on ebay. most of the lambskins are new zealand based and italian tanned.

thankyou. I just wanted to know because eventually I want to try and make a messenger of a wallet. Please post more of your creations.
;)

I forgot, do just use hardware(zippers etc.) that you pic up at chain fabric stores?

the o rings, d rings, and square hardwares i have ordered from Tandy Leather as well as purchased from fabric stores. Jo-Ann fabric store chains had a large selection of purse hardware about a year ago, and they discontinued it all and put it on sale. I buy hardwares when i can find them....sort of where ever i can find them pop up. zippers, i purchase from fabric stores, but i really dont like the heavy coats and clark brand so i have been hunting for another source.

Very lovely work jun3machina  i also really like the little colourful additions you have hanging on the handle

Concretegirrl - I want to sew a dress like that Missoni top too, but I think I'm going to ask my grandfather about it 'cause he knows a lot about sewing. I can tell you how to do it when he answers me. :flower:

Cliona - good job ;)

jun3machina - the bag is so good!
