Shopping on eBay

Be wary of VIP Fashions. I have heard of a number of people getting fakes from them.

I hope they are ok. I just bought a JUICY Thermal Hoodie from them but it hasn't arrived yet. They still have 99% feedback so I hope they are okay. Sometimes I think people think they've gotten a fake and don't know when its the real thing..we'll see! I have the same hoodie already in another color that I know is real because I got it at Saks so I'll compare the two.

Has anyone bought jeans (particularly sevens, rock & republic, true religion & diesel) on eBay and can recommend sellers? I'm wary about ebay but the prices better than most and I want to ensure that I'm getting something authentic.

I dont know how you guys buy clothes on Ebay, I mean even Sevens- depending on the style they fit diff...

It's easier with men's clothes, though you have to be careful. I only by stuff I've tried on before. Even then it's tricky. Most designers change their sizing from season to season. I've got helmut lang's in identical models ("low waist contour fit") that fit just the same, and one's a 31 and the other is a 32. Basically I buy only from sellers who own tailor's soft measuring tape and are able to take some key measurements. It's easier with brands like dior homme which provide item numbers which allow you to pinpoint the season and style.

I buy all my sevens from US ebay, they cost a fortune locally. So far, so good.

I bought a LV petit noe from authentic_lvlady, had it authenticated at LV locally, all good.

I also buy lots and lots of vintage from international eBay sellers. So far all my experiences have been good, except that occasionally items takes months to arrive as they go by sea instead of air.

I love eBay.

almost all the sevens on ebay are fake. I know because i have gotten a couple off ebay, and they are all the exact same ones they sell in NYC on the street for $40. The fakes dont fit as nice and the denim is not the same. All my friends dont understand why sevens were the best jeans around, but i have real sevens also and the difference is so huge in terms of fit and flattering your figure. If you want the real style and comfort of sevens, just order from www.revolveclothing.com or www.daszign.com they both have 25% off with the coupon code luckymag. I posted that in online shopping deals.

i'm in love with rock and republic now and its sold out everywhere online but on ebay theyre selling for $50 so i'm gonna assume theyre fake too. I'm through with fakes. They suck.

Overall I agree with the warnings to be careful, I have had some fun on ebay though, I buy some vintage stuff, some designer shoes from past seasons, and some stuff thats just for fun. I would say, to echo others, be really really careful when buying handbags, espicially Vuitton, Dior, Gucci, etc.

please let us know - hopefully it is authentic!

It came yesterday and it's authentic. Exactly like my other one with tags and I examined the tags carefully. A lot of times the tags are a dead giveaway when its a fake.

I agree, there are a TON of fake Sevens on Ebay - but I am an Ebay seller who sells Sevens, mostly department store overstock, so I wouldn't say you should totally avoid Ebay because there ARE good sellers out there with great deals on Sevens - you just gotta know who they are and know what to look for in the pictures. You always want to see pics of the inside tags, and sellers who sell multiple sizes of the same style usually are selling fakes. www.honestforum.com is a great site to look to if you are in question about a pair you see on Ebay and want expert opinions about whether it's authentic or not.

Yep, I bought one pair of what I think were fake sevens on ebay, but the others have been great and as far as I'm aware, genuine. I don't get too stressed about this sort of thing, it's always a gamble, but if you don't pay too much.....no worries.

BTW Ebayfashionista, thanks for that website and I'll have to check you out on ebay for my next sevens purchase.

Kit - I wasn't intending to push myself as a Seller, just stating not everyone on Ebay is a fake seller.

thanks for letting me know! i know my post came off so hoity toity, but ive been burned a couple of times...and i was looking at R&R scorpions yesterday, they sold for only $54. that just doesnt seem right, it has to be fake? the seller had like 100 pairs in different sizes. however, they said 100% authentic guaranteed, so how do they get around that?

its actually funny b/c my favorite sevens are from ebay, theyre stretch flares in NYD. And as hard as i try, i cannot find the same pair that feels like these ebay ones, whether i go to barneys or buy on ebay. isnt that the saddest?! these are getting frayed!!!!
I'll have to look for you next time i'm on ebay, thanks for your thoughts and comment!

yay! glad it worked out! :D

I've been a shopper on Ebay since '99, I'm finding it harder and harder to find good things on Ebay. It was a gold mine the first 4 years I was on, now everybody and their mother is on ebay, and the bidding process sometimes gets sooo annoying.

I will buy outerwears (coat, jacket), shoes and other non-apparel stuff I'm searching for, but I don't really get into buying clothes on ebay. I'm just like the other poster, I gotta try it on! I don't have a hour-glass shape. I have a really boyish shape, so I HAVE to try everything on.

Nonetheless -- I still go out on ebay, because I know no matter what it is -- I will eventually find it on ebay.

I don't know whats going on with ebay, but I hardly been able to find anything good on their in the last 6 months? Am I alone on this?

ebay can be a really good resource sometimes for finding hard to find stuff. If you know your size for a designer, just search for it on ebay and ususally theres no problem for me.

Does anyone know the seller "dailydenim"? they sell tons of designer jeans (hudson, frankie b, etc etc) and I bought a pair of hudson jeans and they seemed to be authentic.

anyone else have any experience with them?

I've been on since '98/'99 too -since I was 12! Of course you can't get the same kind of bargain but if you like odd things, I don't know like insane platforms or rocking horse shoes or whatever you are fine. If you want a bargain on Marc Jacobs, maybe not.

I just bought two pairs of Tsubis on ebay because it is impossible to get anywhere else. They are quite expensive and I have not received it yet, so not sure if they are authentic or not. Hopefully they are!
