Short hair

I'm going to cut my hair short tomorrow. I have done it before from verry long to short. But now i'm scared for some reason...and I don't know why...what to do?

well it's a big change ^

if you think you'll be happy with it and these are just anticipatory nerves, then i'd try to remind yourself that you'll be happy once it's done, be brave, and then enjoy your new hair.!

but if you're really freaked out by it, maybe it'd be better to do it gradually...tell the stylist you want to eventually go short, but that you want to do it over a few month period...then they can plan how to cut it and go slowly so that you dont freak out quite so much and the change is gradual...

best of luck...i'm sure it'll look great. and just remember..it'll grow.!

Loving Robyn's hair...I tried to explain to my stylist that I wanted I get my hair cut like this last weekend, but I guess I failed miserably...it's a hot mess now, but it's hair...it grows.

^^ Yeah, that was my biggest mistake...I didn't bring in a picture and I don't speak hair!

I tried to explain to have it short in the back and long in the front, but I guess it didn't translate very well. He started razor cutting the back and I was just so shocked when he started doing this that I didn't say anything...it also doesn't help that i've had a crush on one of my stylists (who is not gay, a rarity!) for the longest time...and I hadn't seen him in years. So, you can pretty much say I was feeling quite shy and mumbly when I started talking to him.

Do you have a pic of yourself wearing the assymetrical hair cuivienen?? Why are you growing it out? (Just curious )

I've had it a few weeks now and I do quite like it. I still don't think I've found a hair cut that it 'me', but my hair dresser says just to keep trying new things because you might find a style you love, and if not, it will always grow!

picnmix- You are beautiful (even without makeup!!). Love the headband, and I think your short cut suits you just fine. You look like a little gamine!

And, your stylist is right...once your hair is this short, any style you do and try would hardly be shocking. This is why I love short hair...I can recreate it tons of ways, and if it looks awful, it will grow out and you can always try something new!

Ok and here comes another "what shall I do" post *sorry bout that* ...In December, I cut my hair from like hip-length to a Natalia-Vodianove-Bob and I was really happy with it afterwrads, but now Im just doubting it, you know, its like not really long but not really short as well. I always fancied Mariacarlas short blond cut or Anja Rubiks as well but I just dont know whether it would suit me, even though all the people around keep telling me that the bob I got now really suits me...but would they actually tel you right in the face that you dont look good ? thats always the question^^
So sorry for annoying you but would you mind if I post a picture of me and ask you whether you thin really short hair (and also lighter blond) would suit me ?

cold_sun We will tell you if you post a pic, but if you look good in a bob, Anja's isn't much shorter than a bob so I'm imagining it would look good too. I would recommend if you are going to choose one regardless, get the Anja cut first since it's longer. Live with it and see if you love it. If you still want to go shorter then at that point you will know whether it looks good on you or not and you can always go shorter into the mariacarla pixie.

Actually about two years ago I cut my hair into Sienna Miller's cropped bob (circa Jan 2006) from past-the-shoulders hair and after about 5 months I loved it so much and I thought while I have short hair, why not go all the way? And I ended up getting it bleached to platinum and cropped to the Mariacarla look. I totally loved it to death but after about 6 months I was completely fed up with the damage the bleaching was doing to my hair. You have to keep that in mind especially if you're used to having extremely healthy hair. Even with conditioning like mad your hair will be extra dry and prone to breakage if you make it platinum blonde. To get that color they have to lift most of the pigment (if not all) out of your hair and then tone it more golden. B/c if you don't bleach it all out it turns out orangy.

Thank you so much fot taking your time and answering so in detail pinksatin !! I think youre right in terms of "Anja before Mariacarla" but I dont think I would have dared to go very very short straight away anyway. Ive uploaded a picture of me now so that you can say what you think (sorry because of the angle and black and white but its the only one where you can see my whole face).
...Oh and one more question - is Anjas cut very hard to style in terms of gettin ready in the morning and everything ?

i may have just gone abit mad on my hair with some clippers

alot shorter but i love it now just to get the colour right!

its just a little bit short i was kind of scared of taking clippers to my hair but for some odd reason it doesnt feel strange this short i love it

i bleached it too but theres still bit of orange left on the top because of the red hair i had before hand but it will grow out quick enough because im keeping my hair short for now.
