Exclusive: Sienna puts the record straight about those engagement rumours, her status as a style icon and who really is the most beautiful woman in the world.
It's Sienna Miller's first time as an ELLE cover star (pictured) and so in the July issue (on sale tomorrow) she takes the opportunity to have her say on everthing from fashion to the secret to being happy.
'The big thing I've discovered', she reveals to ELLE's Louise Gannon, 'the big secret, is that it's all about how happy you are. People forget your flaws and imperfections if they see you're happy'. A mantra she seems to have lived by while filming her latest movie, The Edge of Love with Keira Knightly in Wales last year.
The film is about the poet Dylan Thomas and his relationship with his wife, Caitlin played by Sienna and her best friend, his lover Vera - played by Keira (are you keeping up!) After winning the role from Lindsay Lohan, Sienna had to put on weight for the film, a daunting prospect as in her words, 'Then I had to face seeing myself alongside Keira, who is the most beautiful woman in the world' and she adds, also one of the nicest.
Hard to believe Sienna could ever be insecure about her looks, but it's not, reveals the star, the first time that her appearance has bothered her. 'I hated the "boho" tag. I was either known for being Jude's girlfriend or wearing my mum's old skirts. I rebelled by cutting off my hair and wearing freaky clothes for a while'.
She is, she says, much happier now, with a flourishing film career (she's training at the moment for her next role in up-coming film GI Joe), good friends around her including Keira, and a boyfriend who makes her smile the minute his name is mentioned. But are they, as rumours have suggested, actually engaged?
'See, no ring!' She flashes her finger at ELLE. 'It's so embarrassing when those stories come out and that your relationship has been somehow fast-forwarded. We both had our mums on the phone. It's just awkward. But I'm so happy with our relationship.'
