Overrated Celebrity Style!

^That's funny that you say the style on the show has gotten better, because most people think it has gotten worse (along with the quality of the show in general).

I personally loved Blair Waldorf's outfits in the previous seasons. They may not be as interesting in this season, but I think they are just making a transition from schoolgirl attire to ladylike dresses. It's not the best transition, but oh well.

Well, I've gotta admit I don't watch the show so I'm not sure how they exactly dressed. I remember not liking it. Just see pics now and then..

I agree, the GG styling has gotten worse and worse. The first season was the best.

I kinda think that Audrey Hepburn's style gets too much praise. It's very nice and all, but I feel it's overhyped.

From today I don't like Rihanna's style-no art, just shock. Also ticks me off that Perez Hilton says JPG is inspired by Lady GaGa, which has caused me to think her style is overrated. And I don't like Eva Mendez's style either.

Rihanna. Too many accessories. :yuk: I think she tries to come off as fashion forward, but it's more of a fashion orgy she's wearing because she puts on too much stuff a lot of the time.

Are there really people out there who like Rihanna's "style"? To borrow a line from Karen Walker, Are they blind?

^well, most people don't, as far as I know. There was a topic on her style once on another board (not a fashionboard) about her being a "fasion icon".. Everyone agreed that her style only consisted of straight of the runway expensive and trendy designer clothing which does not define style.

pretty much 99% of the "young hollywood" crowd.

even worse for those who are TV stars...and even worse the reality TV stars.

:ninja:

I'm not being euro-snobby, but honestly the only young actresses (as in under 30) whose style I admire are either British or European (ie. France, Spain). I can hardly think of any Australians, Americans that aren't either straight bad, or boring and generic (or even worse - exceedingly tryhard "edgy")

hence, my avoidance of the starstyle forum

I second this.

One thing I can say about Rihanna is that she is experimental, even if she gets it wrong most of the time....Solange Knowles too. But one thing I cannot tolerate is celebrities who don't evolve, remain generic, and try too hard to appease the general public,,,the general public is one large sleeping pill.

Oh man...

I don't even where to begin with this:

Lady Gaga to Launch Clothing Line ‘at Some Point’Flare asked Lady Gaga when she'd launch her own clothing line. She responded, “At some point, I will. Right now, I’m more concerned with using my fame to promote young designers such as Gary Card, an artist who designed a piece I used on stage.” She thinks her public wants her to do one because “There hasn’t been a commercial artist lately that has embodied avant-garde and couture so insistently as myself.” - nymag.com

COUTURE.

ha.

riiight.

Her style definitely is unique. Doesn't mean it's any good though.

aggy deyn. i dont think anything about her style is innovative or unique. just trying to throw things together in effort of it.
