wasn't she playing edie sedwick who had an eating disorder. I'm sure i heard that she was planning on loosing a bit of weight for the role to be authentic. Adrien Brody did it for the pianist did't he ? leo dicaprio became obsessive compulsive or whatever for his role in aviator. and jacquin pheonix became alcoholic for johnny cash portrayal . plus there are all the stars who put on weight for roles. I personally don't think any of them are safe, so shes no different.

i know that you are new and i have been guilty of making the comparisons as well but please can you not see that about half of the 478 pages that are in this thread have some comment about her looking like Kate Moss on. Its so boring its untrue. Go to the piggin Kate v Sienna thread for that. Good god. So while your comment may be 'incredulous' please please the majority of regular posters here don't find it so incredible that you think she looks like Kate. However, i'm sure the peeps over at the K v S thread would welcome you

Honestly, I find it a good thing that she is getting caught up in her role as Edie. This just shows her dedication as an actress. As an actress myself, I have done the same... and some of my best performances came through that because since you live like the character in a way... you are more intune with her... Maybe I am wrong... I honestly think she is just doing this for her character while she is filming... My guess is her style will change after this. I must give her major props for this though. It is a different acting technique from other actresses... but it is a technique... And it will be used to her advantage in the movie. I at first as an Edie lover myself was shocked that she was cast in the role and quite upset... However, seeing how much she has put into this role I have come to admire her as an actress. I know this is a fashion thread... But I just had to say that I admire her for that. I hope though that her style will change after the filming is done. Yet, I have no worries about this movie after this. This is only my opinion of course. :-)

I've seen a lot of actresses and actors try and dress and act a little like their characters while doing press but I think Sienna is taking it to far, I for one always hated it when I saw those other actresses do that because it seemed stupid to me. They are actors, they are supposed to act like somebody else in a movie not in real life. I really don't see the point in doing it for promotion because they are basically telling the general public who doesn't know them very well that they didn't have that hard of a job acting the part because they are the part, cause they very well could not know who they were before. Doesn't really give them much credibility in the eyes of people who aren't big fans if you know what I mean, kind of ruins the depth of the performance. Just my opinion.

The thing that makes me doubt her current style and whatever is going on with her and Hayden right now only serves promotion purposes is that there is still so much time till the movie gets released. It isn’t even clear if Factory Girl will come out this year because there is a pending lawsuit between Sony and the Weinsteins about the distribution rights. The release depends on when this is settled and even if they reach a quick conciliation the movie won’t come out before fall.
While the style/dating thing did make sense during filming in terms of promotion for the early buzz (as did Sienna’s Vogue spread in Edie style) it wouldn’t make much sense now when everything concerning the production is quiet, there is the lawsuit and still so much time till they have to do the rounds for the press. Besides Sienna has two more movies lined up in the near future so we will see how much they influence her style.
