Sienna Miller

I know this isn't exactly mod, but it isn't exactly boho though, but I love this outfit in Alfie.

WHERE Sienna Miller goes us fashion-hungry ladies tend to follow.

We loved her boho chic and adored those chunky belts, but when the style icon du jour lopped off her golden locks it got us wondering… could anyone but Sienna pull off that boyish crop?

Jude’s ex traded her flowing tresses for an elfin style made famous by Sixties icons, like Mary Quant and Twiggy.

And with the Sixties beatnik look so hot this season, Sienna’s pixie hairstyle certainly shows she’s on the style pulse yet again.

We asked celebrity hairdresser Richard Ward how you can make Sienna’s new hairdo suit you …

WOULD IT SUIT YOUR FACE
You’ve got to hand it to her, Sienna’s picked a cut that few people can really carry off.

“You really need petite features to get away with this look,” says Richard Ward.

Sienna’s delicate nose, small ears and jaw-line create the perfect base for this hair do.

However, if – like us - you are not blessed with Sienna elfin features, all is not lost.

Richard explains that you can achieve the look by choosing “a slightly longer style which will soften the cheeks, perhaps also tucking strands behind the ears to accentuate good cheekbones or a strong browline.”

WHAT TO ASK FOR
Now, you could always just pop into the salon and ask for a Sienna , in the same way we all asked for a Rachel eight years ago.

However, if you really want to impress your stylist, Richard Ward suggests asking for subtle layers that are slightly geometric.

“Make sure the cut isn't too exaggerated - the angle has to be right, it's only slightly geometric,” said Richard.

GET SIENNA’S COLOURS
Sienna’s golden highlights is what makes it look ultra-good. Richard suggests: “Go for some all over subtle medium weave highlights.”

If you’ve got dark hair go for colours that are complementary to your natural hair colour, as it’s the highlights that make this cut so striking.

HOW TO STYLE IT
Short hair like this can be quite high maintenance. “Blow dry turning hair under with a bristle brush and finish with a touch of styling product,” says Richard.
“Just be careful not to look too schoolgirl – hair clips are definitely a no-no as this is a confident, sexy look."

Thanks for the article+photos

This is just totally true people cause when I went to my hairdresser late oct.(just the week Sienna cut it) she asked me if I wanted Sienna's haircut and that was two months ago. Obviously she is not letting the hair grow cause mine is shoulder length except from the sides that are a bit shorter but the back of it yes.

I found this picture in the new Teen Vogue with Gemma on the cover, Mario Testino shot it.

I think the orange blush she is wearing is terrible - would have been so much nicer with a soft pink...
definately. and usually the flash of a camera minimizes the real amount of make up...so you can only imagine how much blush she realy was wearing!

anyways, she's a doll. i liker her moer every day.

Although I really loved Sienna's look back in 2004, I love the mod look now too. Styles change over time, esp when a person is still developing who they are and where they fit in if that makes sense. :stuart: She's still young enough yet where she's experimenting. We've all done it and are still doing it. I noticed that when she was filming Alfie, she took on that role into real life too wearing the boho/sixties clothing and now that she's filming Factory Girl, she's wearing what Edie Sedgwick wore to get into her role more. I'm really glad she didn't get that much into her Casanova role with the mullet like hair do and corsets.

^ lmao bohemianbeauty22. (kimberly?) Yeah..it would be nice to be able to star in a movie with great clothes. I'd definetely be inspired. Those motorcycle/moped pictures are the ultimate--thanks Odette! Mod really does suit her new hairdo, though.

And thanks poesy for that teen vogue scan. I guess it was a "b-side" picture from the same shooting day? :p

i think she looks great! i think that if she was still wearing all those floaty dresses and skirts and wearing the coiny belts we would all be saying " thats so old school time for a change" and we would all be bored of her. the fact she has gone from one era to another is awesome and i think she did it with confidence. I know if i were her i would be scared that people will "judge" me cos i am supposed to be this BIG fashion icon stuck in boho.
thats what i love about her. she just honestly doesnt care. Good on her!!!!

Yep that would be me and Katie right? :D Yep I agree, that motorcycle picture was awesome. It was kind mod, I would say?
I still love floaty skirts, gilets and big belts...it's the artistic/hippie side in me. I do love the 60's/70's era. ^_^

^^Eyebrows look very similar but I think that Sienna has a complete different facial structure, this girl is like kind of round/square and Sienna's oval. But if they had the same kind of face either both oval or both round, they'll look dangerously similar.

Yeah, I have to agree...sorry Odette. :( But I'm not seeing it either...mabye the blonde hair and eyebrows and the way the gal is sitting, but that's about it as far as similarities. ;)

BLECH that vermin. Thorn in my sight. But i must admit, her new style is very appealing to me. Beatnik meets biker chick combined with rock and roll vintage shirts and sassy knee high boots. So glad she's over the hobo gypsy phase.

She looks AMAZING on the cover of Vogue UK, Dec 2005. Judging from her interviews, her personality is just amazing. She seems really intelligent and friendly and sweet in her interviews. V. personable. Officially a fan. :-)

I saw that interview. It made me like her a little more. She said if she wasnt an actress she would be a nanny.
