I think her hair and makeup is gorgeous in the VF pics. The dress may not be something I would pick, but she sure looked a whole helluva lot better than a lot of people at the Oscars!

Well, maybe I'm old-fashioned here but it's just about looking appropriate. Perhaps noone will notice your ugly nails at a picnic or in a bar but at a VF gala? Please, it's like forgetting to wash your hair or wear clean shoes! And since I can't see a statement in it or anything that completes some original or creative look, to me she's just being scruffy there. But well, it's just an opinion...
