NEW YORK — A jeans maker sued a private transportation company Thursday, complaining that its failure to take British actress Sienna Miller from England to New Jersey spoiled her planned appearance in an advertisement.
Pepe Jeans, a Barcelona, Spain-based corporation that designs, manufacturers and sells men's and women's clothing, demanded $160,000 for what it paid for the flight and other unspecified costs from Jet Set Private Air Service LLC, which has offices in Los Angeles.
Jet Set was supposed to carry Miller, who starred in
Alfie in 2004, from London to Teterboro, N.J., for an Oct. 7 photo shoot in New York, according to the lawsuit, which was filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.
Jet Set did not immediately return a telephone call seeking comment Thursday.
Since 2006, Miller has been the face of Pepe Jeans and has worn its products and participated in an extensive advertising campaign for the company, the lawsuit said.
