So true. Which is why I hope she'll come out of her "fashion draught" soon. Although, some pictures of her would do.

Cellardoor: In my opinion, I think when she first started out, her style was an instinctive thing and now, as she's getting older and magazines have pegged her as a 'fashion icon' she puts pressure on herself to look good, and half the time, she misses. Or, we could just be expecting too much of her!

I disagree with that actually, Sienna has never put pressure on herself to look good and I doubt she's started now. I think she was MORE under pressure to look good back then because she was just starting out and everyone was watching her. Now I think she just doesn't care. I go through those sort of times too more of than not, where I'm just dressing comfortably for myself and can't be bothered to be inventive. But really I highly doubt Sienna has ever wore something cos she was 'pressured'. She's not that kind of person at all.

I agree! I think Sienna's style has always and will always be innate. She doesn't care about the "fashion icon" thing that much probably, she seems like she just loves fashion.

And yep, exactly honeyisle. I figure if she really was trying to live up to that title she would be doing a complete turnaround ala Katie Holmes/Nicole Richie/anyone who hires Rachel Zoe, etc. But it's funny because most of the time everyone complains that she's not dressing up like she's used to and it's genuinely because she just doesn't care, because it's her life. I honestly believe that in itself is what makes her a fashion icon - she doesn't try to be a hit each time, she just does what's instinctive and that itself is extremely rare and iconic and why we keep coming back for more.

I agree with davies, sienna is perfect example of a celebrity dressing like a normal person, in that she does not dress up (or down for that matter) all the time. She simply does not care. When she's running down the road to grab milk or whatever (cigarettes haha), she's in trackpants and uggs, or jeans maybe, in that don't give a damn way that we all are when just popping out of our house to run some errands. Sometimes i get so frustrated when you see celebrities shopping in heels, make up, hair, full on dress and outfit... Maybe they came from work or something, but then, a lot of celebrities know that wherever they go they will be photographed, and they feel they can never be photographed not looking good. I applaud Sienna for not caring about whether or not she looks tired, or whether or not she's dressed up to the nines every time she leaves her house. Her candids may not always be 'inspirational' or 'stylish' but they are real.

WHen it comes to dressing for events i think she is a bit hit and miss. At events it isn't possible just to throw on whatever and look good, she knows that, she's done it before and looked terrible. When she thinks about an outfit i think that it sometimes ends up looking contrived. But there are also times on the red carpet where she looks absolutely amazing. I don't know what it is, but i love looking at pics of her when she gets it right on the red carpet, because it is always exciting. She looks happy and stylish in clothes that just work for her. Maybe when she gets it right on the red carpet it's because she's tried to dress for herself, and not the cameras or for the occasion. I don't know.

But by god, she's beautiful, isn't she?

I love that she has scruffy days, i love her better with messy hair, jeans and uggs, and I love that she is not Kate Beckinsale or V Beckham and that she is not allways put up together ! That's what i envy about her, she is beautiful even in the simpliest outfit !

I probably should have elaborated a little more. I was referring to her recent style at events, not candids. And though I think you've all raised valid points, I doubt the thought of being a style icon hasn't crossed her mind from time to time. I mean, I could be entirely wrong, but I think when celebrities get a certain amount of exposure, they are definitely aware of what sort of effect their style choices have. I couldn't really care less about her candid style, though I admit, I loved some of her candid outfits from back in the day. Personally, I'm just happy as long as she's not topless. There's only so much Sienna I can handle, even if I do adore her.
