It's reasonable to say her reputation has tanked (but that includes the Jude nonsense)..

Career is different though, I don't think she's any more or less undesirable as an actress.

I think she is though, just because her acting ability isn't really what studio execs are thinking about--they're thinking, we people want to see a film with Sienna Miller in it? The public response has been no so far.

there is a lot of negative publicity about her and the married man,
but it's not something that nobody has done before.
i don't agree with it, and i think it was wrong of sienna to do it,
but she will prove herself as a good actress (which she is) and people will move on, provided she keeps herself out of the public eye.

i literally loathe watching her pics from Edie-era in her life.. it was sooo unecessary for her image, health and career. factory girl was far from success. and her phase with short hair left her in a total fashion mess (i dont have to remind some of you this picture with anna wintour.. in pants.. )

I don't understand your point of view...Factory Girl (I just watched it the other day) was a great movie, and Sienna's acting abilities in it reasonable enough. Why do you feel that cutting her hair was a bad move, it was for the movie, afterall. I look back on that hoopla as nonsense. Sienna looked great in my opinion, sometimes what the fashion world considers a big mistake is just overrated.

^ sienna was great in factory girl, but playing a character that wasn't edie sedgwick. my biggest problem with the movie, and it is one shared by most that didn't like it, is that it was so far from the truth about the factory, andy warhol and edie sedgwick's relationship...

and then it gets slammed by Lou Reed from the Velvet Underground as a travesty and a blemish on Edie's name... not good for press, and not good for the integrity of the film. I know it didn't even get released in Australia it went straight to DVD, and although yes, she is amazing in it, as someone who loves Edie it is clear that she isn't amazing as edie but as a character...

but i agree with you Kari123, the hair was great, i loved it, and i cut my hair just like it because i loved it so much. Her style choices were often not great, but she was testing sartorial waters IMO, and that's a good thing (like the granny undies over tights) and she was also dressing, in some ways, like edie did.

imho, sienna was ok in this movie. but she should stick to romantic comedies or something like alfie or casanova. not much of a highly respected actress. and lou reed's opinion is extremely valuable for me. as, of course, i agree with him completely. designers and make-up artists did a great job to make sienna a look-alike of edie. she did look like edie indeed. nonetheless, the movie (i watched it somewhere this week) was terrible as a movie.

and. I THINK. that it was a role that could boost her career. unfortunately. it didnt happen. mainly due to the crappy script.

also. i find cutting her hair a total disaster. she looked beyond awful in her hair short.. moreover.. during edie-phase she was slightly.. unfreshed-looking. washed out. somehow dirty. she didnt pull it together even once. so.. i am totally glad that she is back on the right track a bit. and her luscious blonde locks are where they should be from the very beginning..
