Hey Everyone .
I searched and couldn't find any thread on Sigur Ros. I saw them about a week ago and they were brilliant. I really can't emphasise on how spectacular their show was and how tight their set was! I absolutely adore 'Agaetis Byrjun' (especially 'Staralfur') and their latest 'Takk...'.
Sorry, if there was already a thread on them and I somehow missed it  .

Any fans?

I heard the name a couple of times before...but haven't heard any of their songs...what type of music is it?

yes, they're probably my favourite band. very hard to define to someone who's not into that sort of music though! words to describe them are beautiful, ethereal, epic, climatic, guitar driven... i've been into them since about 2003, seen the live show twice now, but will hopefully fit a couple more in this year. i can't recommend them enough, this band could change your life

Saw them & met them when they came to Perth...

Amazing live set, some of the guys in the audience were so moved they were crying...

I'm seeing them in a week actually, at a music festival!! I hope they're great..

^^ aww, that's so sweet!!

yes, i love sigur ros...their music is something so different from what i grew up listening to...my sister actually got me listening to them. i came into her room one time and said, "what are you listening to, a bunch of singing whales?!?"... ...OMG!! i can't believe i said that but i really got into thier music and i'm in love with them!! so long live the whales that are sigor ros!!

Definately download!!! (or buy :shifty: )

Try Ba Ba, that's one of my favourite songs by them

I love Sigur Rós! They're coming to this year's Roskilde Festival, I'm def. there! I have the live recording from the almost 'legendary' concert they played when they last visited Roskilde - AMAZING.

I have 3 CD's: Agaetis Byrjun, () and Takk. Right now I love listening to Gong.

actually, if you haven't heard much of their stuff before i'd start off by downloading 'vidrar vel til loftarasa', 'staralfur' or 'glosoli' which are slightly more commercial, or at least easy to get into and fall in love with. then if you like that buy their first album 'agaetis byrjun'.

If I were to be introduced to the wonderful world of Sigur Rós I would DL:

- Olsen Olsen from Agætis Byrjun
- Track 4 (the tracks aren't names on this CD) from () (the CD is titled either!)
- Gong from their newest CD Takk

Most of their songs are good, but these are the most accesible IMO.

you can download the Glosoli video (and i think the Hoppipolla video?) from http://www.drrnwbb.com/bt/. the earlier ones used to be up there too but i don't know where they've gone.

This band is so amazing! They came to my city on Valentine's Day and I missed it. I hope I get to see them live sometime soon!
