Oh yeah...the lanvin thing. Get some polystyrene balls about the size of chesnuts and string them on to some elastic, long enough for a necklace. Then wrap lengths of silk scarves around and secure the silk with some wire in between the balls and cover the wire up with more of the silk scarves. I'm gonna do this once I buy some black chiffon to cover the balls with.
Can someone post a pic of the lanvin-thing? :flower:

Another idea : take a long sleeved tee, take of the sleeves and add fabric where the tee and sleeve meet.. I love this..ha..if I find the time I might actually do this myself ^_^

You could also shred a scarf and kind of weave it into a braid :flower:

omg hanne...:o

...
that is GORGEOUS!!!...
i don't know if i could actually do that...
it's a bit intimidating... but i think it would be worth a shot!...
thanks you so much...
*maybe chris will help me...
:innocent:

chanel...
i see...
i get it now...^_^...
i was picturing something completely different...
i agree that a cluster would be very cute...
so you think i could sort of stuff them and make little balls...
hmmm...or knots like someone else said...
maybe i could attach a bunch of knots to the neckline of something...

hmmm...
this is great!!!....
you guys are brilliant!!!...:woot:

:bounce:...

that's a really good idea!

soft, you could also sew the scarves together to make a camisole.

i thought about sewing some together...
i don't know...but it really just looks a mess i think...
they are all so different...

*i am going to gather some together when i can and try to post some pics to see what you guys think....
i have to get them out of storage and organize them...
then it'll be easier to figure out what to do i think...

*shredding and braiding sounds interesting....
i just don't want to look like a ragamuffin...

:ninja:

umm..how about sewing a few together in matching colors and making them into a skirt! or u can attach them to plain shoes that u have and make these plain shoes look like they'r ballerina shoes if u know wat i mean...
or ummm...u can wear them as wrist bands..hair bands with beads attached to them..u can wear them as belts too i guess

Take a picture of the scarves softie..that could help with inspiration.

I took this picture just now of one of Storm's tops ... I like the way the bow has been very rudimentarily sown on.. you could do that with scarf fabric as well :flower:

Ahhh that top is so teeny tiny its so adorable .. one well dressed baby :D

softie how long/big are the scarves as you coulkd use them as shoes laces ... but maybe not if they are really long. Cant think of any more ideas off hand ill get abck to you :p

haha...that's cute hanne...

ok...i'll post a pic of some stuff soon...
i'm already getting some sort of idea that i am going to need to get some opinions on...but it's sort of a nautical theme...:ermm:

the thing is...i have to actually wear it eventually...
so it also has to somehow work in my wardrobe and personal style...
so maybe you guys could help me twist somehow to make it more 'me'...

ok...i'll be back later with pics...:flower:

petrozillia-charcoalshirtsilktie.jpg

You could sew a scarf on the bottom of a t-shirt like this Petro Zillia top and leave the ends at the side to make a tie.

Picture from reel-style.com

You could cut the scarves into strips, tie the strips together and then knit with them. I tried something like this myself once...it's time consuming and a pain in the neck but the effect can be interesting. (I think I just talked myself out of my own idea...)

Warning ! Bad drawings up ahead  All photographs from style.com

I actually though of embellishing my clothes w. tubes prior to seeing Hussein Chalayan (I swear  ). I don't know if "futuristic" is something that would fit into your existing wardrobe Softie ..adding tubes could probably give a top a space suit kinda feel to it.
Add pillow-fill to the tubes, but keep the part that goes under your arm empty for comfort.

Another idea would be to make the scarf into a summer top with halterneck'ish bare back - and tie it in place with another scarf around your midriff (sp?)

Also you could use the scarves kimono style a la Lavin ss06 either just as they are or add padding to the scarf belt to give it more structure.

thank hanne...
my goodness you are incredibly creative and adventurous...!!!....
i'm kind of thinking that i might look like an extra from star trek or memoirs of a geisha though...
...

i'm all about ease and comfort in dressing...
which is actually giving me a real problem this season...
obi's like that are beautiful, but are akin to a corset for me...
too 'binding'...:ninja:

*maybe a cummerbund would work somehow...

i love how we feed off of each others ideas and come up with variations of each others concepts...
it's such a great creative effort...

thanks for all the ideas guys...awesome!!!...
