Sonia Rykiel S/S 09 Paris

I tried to hate this...it's sort of ridiculous but you know what, it's entirely too much fun. There's nothing particularly innovative but the dresses are pretty and wearable. It shouldn't be anything else than exactly what it is :)

Bon anniversaire Sonia! Im loving this! What a great idea to have guest designers interpret her classic looks.

WOW! This is so fantastic, so much fun, so heartwarming! And those Rykiel inspired outfits that closed the show...best birthday present EVER! My favorite individual outfits are the sequined cocktail dress on Ali Michaels and the sequined blouse on Anabela!

Cannot wait for the video on soniarykiel.com (never have I been more glad she has full videos on her site!)

Always love the Rykiel shows as they are so much livelier than others! The models can let loose, smile, and fully enjoy showing off the garments. I think far too many people take fashion far too seriously; imo, its about fun, fabulousness, beauty, whimsy, and enjoyment. This show showcases all to a T~ :D

I could swear, that the Margiela coat was made by Ann D.(still can't spell her name).:ninja:

I:heart:this

One of my favorite collections this season

LOVE this!!
I really look forward to her shows so much every year, because they really are making fashion fun, yet still with great clothes!
And they have to be the best shows to see!
Love the idea at the end, and thanks for posting the video! Cant wait to see full length!

i just don't know why but i thought it was gabrielle greiss who now designed the rykiel collection. why am i thinking this ? didn't she do sthg for rykiel ? why is she with rykiels at the end ???!!!

i thought the names were given for noticed influences (i'm sooo used to read this kind of things, now) but actually that were your guess. here are more names
Alber Elbaz (Lanvin), Karl Lagerfeld, Giorgio Armani, Yohji Yamamoto, les maisons Valentino et Missoni, Roberto Cavalli, Christian Lacroix, Vivienne Westwood, Jean Paul Gaultier et autres grands noms de la mode.
AFP news - and yes Gabrielle Greiss did the collection.

i like this idea of other designers doing sthg for her anniversary. but i just feel like it's rykiel's anniversary for 2yrs ................... make this story have an end !!!!!!
i've seen on tv JPG did the last look and MARGIELA/MMM did the total hairy look.
but who did the other hairy look ??
someone's got the list?

WOW thanks for posting the video

joyful show! I love some of the "special designer"-outfits, especially gaultier's knittingdress. happy birthday

This makes me so, so happy to look at. For some reason Adobe Flash has been out to get me recently, but hopefully after I install it for the millionth time I can view the video. I'm so curious about the music that was used for this show! Honestly, if they threw a bunch of bad Turkish pop music from the past three decades, I would not be surprised. The zanier, the better!

Who was the model that
fell? this collection was
so bright and fun...loved it
Tanya was laughing so hard though
at the model on the floor..lol

I absolutely loved it! Thanks for posting the video...I can't wait to see the full show!

Way cooool! I was wondering why some stuff was so un-rykiel. I love the hair chubby by Margiela. Always a fun fun show.

Sonia is always a lot of fun. I love how many outfits look so warm to wear without being heavy on the body.

Wait, who made this dress? I'm in love with it.
