St Ives Apricot Scrub, Good or Evil

^ i can just imagine you saying that

can i just ask the people who say the particles are too big........what scrubs contain parrticles that are an acceptable size?

the scrubs should contain soft "beads" is what they are referred to most.
I use a scrub with jojoba beads in it and its great.... cant think what else they should be at the moment

I found it too harsh for my skin. An even cheaper alternative that I use is baking soda with a bit of Cetaphil ;)

hmm. i might have to try this. ^_^ How much baking soda?

I'm the poster child for combination skin. My nose, chin and in between my eye brows are really oily and get nasty easily. So I use the medicated scrub only on those parts about once a week. Other than that I stick to the Obsessively Organic Exfoliating Face Wash from Kiss My Face and it works wonders, (no grains but it has lemon extract and AHAs).

I think its ok but a dermatologist once told me she wouldnt use it on anything above her ancles...

This is more of a body exfoliator for me since the grains are big...

For my face I use a at home microdermabraison kit that has a mild face scrub with soft, small beads and the scrubbing brush...I've haven't seen my face look this healthy in the longest of time.

St. Ives is a good basic exfoliator but I agree--it is better for body. I like the Loreal Microdermabrasion kit for face.

It's a bit of an average scrub.Nothing spectacular.I agree it does seem to work better on body than the face-it's too harsh for the face.:(

Ok, this is strange but I have like, a permanent suntan on my arms that I want to get rid of! It's been there FOREVER but I know it's not my natural skin color because you can see tan lines. Anyway, do you think the Apricot Scrub would get rid of it?

haven't used it in years, found the particles to be waaay big and harsh.

agree with other poster - smooth beads are better for the skin. Nivea has a gentle cream scrub w/ beads.

thought St. Ives particles rough in that appeared to be ground apricot seeds - which if you were to magnify them, have harsh and possibly serrated edges = ouch!

I didn't read through the entire thread but I find that it is very harsh on my face so I use it as a body scrub. If you like it that much but its too harsh for you maybe you should use it a bit less?

I LOVE st ives scrub!!! I suppose it depends on your skin type but it definitely agrees with mine, my skin has never been better since I started using it.

The layer of dead skin on my face is SO thick, this is great for getting rid of it. I only use it 2 times a weeks, though.

Sometimes I switch for Origins Microdermabrasion, too.

It might be too abrasive. Make sure you are rinsing thoroughly.
I would use Peter Thomas Roth scrub with the blue beads, it is very gentle and amazing.

I use it a couple of times a week, and my skin is okay with it...

i like St Ives! it made me skin a lot smoother/less acne but then again i bairly had acne to begin with.. just the whiteheads on my forehead.. St ives def. cleared it up.. but my friend's mom said that there is an ingredient in st ives apricot scrub ( i dont know what ingredient it is) that is harmful to your skin.. i dont know if thats true though. anyways, i say its good!

Check out the peter thomas roth, botanical buffing beads! it is a good amount for the money $30. They have it on sephora. It has the soft beads.

I have used St. Ives for a long time,I had some tiny spots on my body and they have gone when I was using it.However, now I'm using Body Shop's scrub,I forgot the whole name but it really works, smells nice and makes your skin soft and smooth.
