Pucci Teams Up With Marais and Opens in Venice

The house of Emilio Pucci has inked a deal with Stephane Marais to create unique bags designed to better carry products by the famed makeup artist.
Marais has made up the faces for models in Pucci shows in Milan since Christian Lacroix became the creative director four seasons ago. The cool new bags from the Florentine label will carry the celebrated Marais makeup line.
Both Marais and Lacroix are known for their obsession with color, bold, fantastic graphics and glamorous sophistication. That same combination is apparent in the new Pucci boutique in Venice which recently opened in the Lagoon City.
Located just around the corner from Harry's Bar, the new store is done in a mix of lilac and soft purple, the better to highlight the eye-catching prints of the label. Decorated with lacquered wood furniture or transparent Plexiglas, the boutique at San Marco 1318 boasts a turquoise Lamborghini print carpet. It brings to 11 the international chain of Pucci stores; half them located in classy tourist destinations like Portofino, Palm Beach, St Moritz and Palm Beach.
The Marais bags begin retailing in Pucci boutiques and major department stores this June. Retailers will also offer a selection of Marais products to go with the makeup sacks, developed in Mediterranean hues like almond green, turquoise, caramel and Emilio rose.
The bags will come in two sizes, small (priced 125 Euros) which can carry lipstick, mascara and face powder, and large (145 Euros) with numerous small interior pockets to hold other face and beauty lotions.
