I think that Vogue Italia jan 2007 is very good but little bit boring. I love idea and pics but I didn't believe that I ever said but sometimes ed is just fine without storyline. That ed reminds some of his other work.. but it's his style and he makes amazing stuff

Steven Meisel is more innovative, daring and provocative. His style is very particular, mostly because his ideas are controversial and evocative.

Testino is more 'safe' and predictable, with all due respect, lol. His concepts aren't very innovative - but then again, his photography style depends on withdrawing feelings, emotions, personality (etc etc) from models and celebrities that he works with.

i think i am getting slightly better.
now i see more similarities between klein and meisel rather than testino and meisel (what was i thinking?!)

still, it's quite different with every shoot which is good, i suppose but at the same time i cannot get enough of roversi, m&m, sorrenti more distinctive style. they all have got a specific certain "signature" to their work.
as well as teller and richardson. ; )

Steven Meisel is only great when he is over-the-top-creative. Whenever he does those groundbreaking editorials like "State of Emergency" - his work is absolutely phenomenal.

Otherwise, he really isn't that great. The amount of boring, cliched fashion editorials that Meisel does for US Vogue....it really sh*ts me up the wall. Its just boring.

And don't get me started on the fact that whenever Meisel shoots an editorial it just HAS to have one of 'his girls' meaning it's either Sasha, Coco or Caroline Trentini.

No offence to Sasha fans, but Vogue Italia really over-uses her. She is so over-exposed at the moment. I'm sick of her. She cannot bring anything new or exciting to any editorial because her presence becomes so generic. I really don't like her anymore.
