Very feminine even if the form is not. Like it or not!? I am still unsure.....

oi, I don't like them.

exept if they are too small, like if they are made for little boys..

^ yeah, I agree. anything bigger than a little boy's jacket would swallow a petite girl like me. the 90's are still feeling a bit too recent for me to appreciate this.

yea i'm not feeling these either. the 90's jumped out at me as soon as i saw them... ick

^ I immediately thought of julia robert's 'conservative' scene in pretty woman, where she wears that big blazer with pleated shorts and a rather poufy blouse.

well said. I'm def. not ready yet

i'm already 'doing' the jacket revival, (mainly with 'contrasting skirts at the moment, planning to adapt it with pyjama trousers for spring) and simply adore both the Hermes looks and the second aquascutum examples posted here
(i'm all in for the Hermes waistcoat too..)

thanks (once again) for the trend spotting kimkhuu :flower:
(not sure most of the jackets posted are unfitted at all.. its just that they are worn 'open' as they should be )

I have a Margiela straight cut blazer which I am finding quite hard to wear (because i normally wear fitted jackets - its for work you see). I think it looks best with a contrasting or patterned skirt but maybe it will work with a fuller skirt. I find it looks quite bad with straight cut trousers that I wear for work. Maybe I am wearing it wrongly...

Thanks Kimkhuu.

it could look super chic with pyjama trousers Helena ;)
and i agree with contrasting skirts

i have a new 'craze' but only for the uber fitted jacket
(thanks to my ysl vintage) but i always wear them open (unbuttoned)

I'd have to find some chic pj trousers first though! and a bit cold just now Lena! ooooooh!

Thanks for posting Kimkhuu. :flower:

I'm not too keen on this look, I would look so frumpy if I wore it I'm sure...I can't really imagine how it would 'work' on many people.

hmmm... i think i really like this look... the whole androgyny thing is very appealing to me...
to me the key is not having the squared/angular shoulder look...
shoulder pads must go...
that's what gives it the harsh 80's / 90's feel... too severe...

i think that if the shoulders are soft and delicate (like the Aquascutum or even the lagerfeld) then the look works...
the stella mccartney ones are too boxy for my taste...
i think the blazer needs to be long and soft as opposed to boxy and square...

i actually find most of those jackets posted quite fitted , and that the only way i like them
