And I may be a bad gay for saying this, but I never understood the appeal of Barbara. And what has she done to her face?

Edit: I just see that Collier Schorr photographed her. So I’m sure she’s partially to blame for how bad Barbara looks.

Her output isn't to my tastes, but what Barbra represents to me is someone who insisted on doing things her way - with the talent to back it up - at a time when women weren't supposed to have any real agency over their professional lives. She had the self-belief to will 'Barbra the star' into existence, despite the world constantly telling her she shouldn't or couldn't.

Dolly Parton is the same, except she harnessed the power of Southern charm to disguise that steely core of self-determination, whereas Barbra never really bothered romancing the media in order to soften her image.

SAME. She has a great voice and has some good performances, but I can’t stand her. This is horribly mean to say, but imagine doing all that to your face and still thinking you have a “good” side. She insists on only being photographed/filmed/interviewed from the left side of her face only. It’s the delusion, for me. I can’t even blame Collier.

regardless of Barbra’s age she doesn’t look good at all here, the pictures are just bad. also, agreeing that she’s a control freak how on Earth did she say yes to that?!!

Dolly Parton has a couple of passable shots and the same goes for Patti.
