Tao
Comme des Garçons

A silent debut.
A romantic assortment of knitwear and lingerie, a taste for combining and welding them and for making them stand out and match: that’s what Kurihara Tao stands for.
Draw strings, corsets, padded buttons and lace literally make this young talent’s collection delightful: a talent who can still blush when dealing with such romantic details. After her professional apprenticeship in Watanabe’s studio, Tokyo, the stylist promises to explore a single concept each season.
Tao Comme des Garçons.

also very scratchy...:ninja:...

thanks runner...I can't decide what I think of this. I think I don't like it. I hope she does something tahts not corsets next season.

What they call 'a pretty breath of candour', seems to me like nothing new.

As it's all about lingerie and young women in petites tenues I suspect your wish may not be granted, Helena.

ok...got my hands on the blue piece that runner posted...
and i have to admit...
it was GLORIOUS...
that pic doesn't do it justice....

it was just lovely...
completely impractical and basically unwearable...
but oh so lovely...

*not a very good colour though...imo...:ermm:

I really love the Tao collection... saw it in Dover Street Market! Such strong craftsmanship. The pieces really feel like they've been made with love

I saw this in person for the first time this weekend. It is exquisitely made & put together but I just find corsets pretty unwearable although some good options shown above in the pics runner posted to dress it down. I saw a pink version of the blue one referred to above and it was so elaborate......

Actually I found a Tao jumper which was amazing. The knit was very complex like those still knitted by hand (but attracting much less adulation I am sure) in the shetlands or in eriskay but with little breast shapes knitted in....gorge! I think the price was less frightening tahn the corset prices too.

On a negative note there was a pair of huge big woolen knitted panties with a ribbon tie - now that was just plain silly!!!!

I think Tao to me is the most appealing of the different CdG lines.. I don't recall seeing any Tao in the Guerilla Store in Copenhagen.. maybe later on ??

it seems that the corsets and 'hot pants' are always shown worn over another layer...

there is a page about the line in italian vogue this month(sept) and it's shown over a l/s top and some sort of leggings i think...

so maybe if we think of it as a VEST then it becomes more wearable???...
:ermm:...
