It definitely hurts on your foot because the skin is so tight and thin..i would imagine it's the same for wrists

Actually it doesn't hurt at all in the wrist, I have one on it and I barely felt it the same for friends that also have some there. For me it hurts the most in your ribs because thats were your boy is most bony @_@

i want a tattoo so bad but im not sure what i really want. for a long time i wanted the little hanger Amanda Moore has on her neck but on my wrist, now id like to have more options like a fashion design related tattoo like the hanger but maybe something else, any suggestions are highly appreciated!

i see a lot of tasteful tattoos on here

i been wanting a tattoo when i was 15 but i was young and know nothing and my mom wont let me get it so now that im 18...i think i wanna get one when im 19 or something.
i wanted to get the letters MUXU tattooed since i was 15 and i still do like it but it seems almost like branding myself. im gonna wait a couple years for this one.
however, i really want to tattoo a constant reminder for myself, like a word or message. i really like the one on freja's arm, 'this too shall pass', it's a great phrase and it will help me get through all the good and bad and making myself stay grounded and that nothing last forever so i should live my life as it is now.
buttttt i dont wanna get the same tattoo as her, which would be kinda weird..though i like it very much.
instead, i plan on getting one of my favorite word in chinese tattooed on my wrist instead.

it can have many meanings, but it can simply mean endurance, tolerance, to have patience.
this is one of the favorite words hung in people's homes. but i dont wanna hang it, i wanna wear it haha.
i sometimes tend to get impatient and aggressive. i realize that you have to endure smaller pain and suffering in order to gain a bigger and wider perspective.
it's kinda like that same message but summed up in one character
and no...i dont think this is tacky or cheesy. im chinese so i know what it means and it's personal.

I just made an appt at inkspot in LES to get my feather tat tuesday night. I've been wanting it/thinking about it for like almost 2 years already and jsut haven't gotten the chance to take out the time and money to make an appt and get it done. So I'm excited! It's been a long wait!

Ive been wanting a tattoo ever since I can remember, but I am so indecisive about what I want and where. Im 90% sure I have made up my mind. I'm going to get them done very lightly, just outlines. The letter J on the back of my neck in some sort of pretty lettering. A palm tree outline somewhere, most likely inner wrist, and either a lotus flower or a libra symbol on my other wrist.

Id love to have a massive one wrapped around my ribs and side of my stomach, but I dont know what I would get and it wouldn't suit my personality. I just think it would look awesome.

And Peaches, that ribs, side thing sounds really cool, but you know it could cost thousands of dollars right? Depending on how elaborate and detailed and the level of the artist. Just another factor to think about .

^^ I know. I wont get it done. I can't think of anything I would put there, plus it wouldn't suit me. And it would most likely stretch when I have kids, which wont be for at least 10 years.

I'll see how I feel about it when I'm in my 30s. Might just get smaller ones for now.

Sorry for the blurry picture. In case you can't read it, it says "these fugitive words." It's from the Pablo Neruda poem I Have Gone Marking. I got it because I'm a writer, and I sometimes have this fear like my words are slipping away from me, and they'll eventually run out. I guess I got it to remind myself to face down that fear.

I got it last night I really like it! I think it's beautiful. And it only took about a half hour. I would recommend inkstop to others in NYC. I want to wait a little while until it's more healed to post a pic though...

What do you guys think about henna tattoos? After watching Madonna's Frozen, i got inspired and I mgiht have one done... Anyone knows where to find good pictures? I browsed around the net but the quality is bad....hahaha! Flickr doesn't help either...

I vowed on new years to get one, so I will have to.

It's an idea that's been in my head for the longest time, and I consider it every day. I never really had an idea what to get but now my mind is set on these two ideas: 1. A rather small "Still Ill" on the inside of my foot (I have no idea what to call that area, but let's just say you wouldn't see it if I wore pumps, but you'd see it if I wore slingbacks ) and a larger "Seasick, Yet Still Docked" under my arm, almost on my back. (Both are song titles of songs that mean a lot to me )

Is henna permanent? Im starting to warm to the idea of a rib tattoo like I mentioned previously, but the bf isnt too keen. Maybe if I could get something that will fade away or wash off, just to get a feel for it.

Hiii TanyaKiller i had henna done on my hand when i was in morroco, it comes in a brown colour and a black. i had gotten the brown done better and it doesnt last a long long time. depends wat u do with ur hands lol (washing etc) i got the black done in morroco and for some reason it burnt my skin :S i dont know y, i think because it was drying and i think because its stonger than the brown, but it lasted a few weeks. ill try post u a pic.. send me a Private msg if u want n il send it to u on there cos its a big pic

I really love the idea of tattoos with a musical meaning. I want to get the words 'Overground' and 'Overboard' (in reference to my favourite Siouxsie & the Banshees song) right above each elbow, but this idea is too new right now for me to be sure I want it (two months). I want to be completely positive, because its not a place I can easily hide on a daily basis, but its the only place I would want a tattoo, except for maybe my wrist, which is even harder to hide.

Oh, and I LOVE the font used for GannetGuts' tattoo. Its beautiful.
