Tattoos

Oh! Totally gorgeous!

Did anyone see the MSNBC episode -I believe it was an episode rather than a special- about getting tattooed? I felt the psychiatrist was completely bogus in some explanations, but he tried to explain why a heart surgeon got a tattoo. Does it really matter? If he wants a tattoo, he'll get one.

(Off topic but... I feel that sometimes, psychology is a waste of time. Like, let's not overanalyze. In high school, the teacher asked, "Does anyone know what the horse represents?" I actually said, "What if it doesn't represent anything? What if it's just there?" Like getting tattoos, what if it's just something we do?)

^I don't know about anyone else, but when I look back at my tattoos I want to be reminded of what they meant to me then, how things have changed since I got them, etc, not just as something that I got because I was bored and now I wish I could get it off.

Different strokes for different folks though, I always say.

I got Banksy's "Balloon girl" tattooed on my leg about four weeks ago.

I love it but the balloon is still peeling and it's not very... beautiful right now.

Very nice! Gives me an idea of what to place on my leg where I have a recent burn from my bike's muffler. It hasn't heeled yet but I think there will definitely be a scar....

I have less then a year until I get them and I can't wait. I think tattoos, when they are not generic, they are beautiful pieces of art. I haven't really even decided on what exactly I plan on getting, but one of my ideas is the Soviet Union coat of arms with wings(maybe the wings being made of bullets) spreading out, on my upper back. I'm really into Russia and their history, so I would like to represent that in some way.

i just had my 1st tatoo done last week.
a cat drawn in an abstract way, and it's on my left leg. :)

Show us, show us, show us.

You can't just tell us you got one without showing us all. ^_^

I just made my appointment to see my artist for finishing my back!!!! I have been putting it off for way too long. Cant wait to see what kind of ideas he and I come up with together. I am girly with my tattoos  Once the whole piece is completed I will be happy. Here is half, it runs down to my mid back.

i have 6 tattoos (one of them is a *2-in-1*), and they're all in strategic places so i can hide them easily and flaunt them when i want ;)

i love them all, not counting the 1st one which i got just b/c i could :(. i learned my lesson and have been searching for the perfect design to cover it with.

MahaK - that is absolutely awesome!
I would like some more tattoos on my back and arms, but they are so expensive. However, a number of my work colleagues have small ones on their wrists which are not too much. I love the abstract cat min-SH, and have found an abstract/stylised cat design that I think would be a good one for my wrist. I may alter it slightly to make it totally original.
