I'd like to get a very small one for my aunty who passed away.. i still get really upset about it and in a way i still dont believe shes gone.. Her name was Donna so i was thinking a D in a really nice font somewhere small.. any ideas?

Maybe her name in her own writing.. do you still have any cards from her in which she's signed her name but not a proper signature? Just 'Donna' as she used to write it would be beautiful. I read of a guy whose father was dying and he had his father write out a phrase he used to say to the son as a child.. now he has it tattooed upon him in his father's writing, it's a beautiful idea.

I'm sorry for your loss, and it's lovely that you want a part of her upon you always, then she'll always be with you both in your memories and in your heart as well as a physical part of you too.



I've been wanting text upon my wrists for awhile.. I'm Buddhist and have been thinking along those lines since I started thinking of the lotus upon my neck over a year ago. I got the lotus in February - yes, neck tattoos HURT! - and after pondering the text for so long I'm hoping to get it done this summer. I've been considering a shortlist for awhile but am rather certain I'll get "This too shall pass.." in calligraphy script upon the inside of my right wrist. The words will wrap just up the sides of my writst, and I'll have a mandala on the top side to join it together, finish the tattoo upon the back.

I'm right-handed, it's my 'doing' hand if you see what I mean, and so part of my wanting text there is to keep my resolves in mind with all that I do. "This too shall pass.." wasn't my first idea to get, I wanted a phrase more encompassing of right action and all that since it's upon my right hand, but I love this too shall pass, and it still resonates in terms of keeping it in mind in your actions and, especially, reactions.

I think that it would be nice because even if I dont like him anymore (not that that would happen) I still like birds I would get it on my ankle or ontop of my foot really small no bigger that an inch.

I dont know if its a long shot but Im considering applying as a support member at a tattoo shop that is open in the Hotel/Casino I work at.

They just put up the billboard outside the boutique space last night....

I love the idea of tattoos so much that I think I would be happy being around it everyday.

I feel like they would want a tatted up kid that wants to be a groveling apprentice even though I probably have a higher understanding of aesthetics, composition, placement etc on body art, general business mind, and a knowledge of tattoo history and origins.

^^^ go for it whats the worst that could happen impress them with your knowledge and understanding for body art which should always win over just being covered in tats

i eventually got mine yesterday i changed my mind on the placement though so i have a lovely rose and dagger on my thigh

I got mine a week ago today! It's scabbing over a little right now and itching like crazy but I love it! Here's a pic:

It's a lowercase "B" (sorry the bottom pic isn't rotated!) for my little brother. I love it so much. It just fits perfectly.

it's a bit under my right cubital fossa.
"Hoffnung" is "hope" in German.
