apparently he's in the running to play Finnick in the Hunger Games. That would be amazing if he got it!

Has The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire found its Finnick Odair? Not just yet, but it sounds like the movie franchise's studio Lionsgate could be getting close to finally picking its man to play the dreamy tribute...

A source tells us at that the top three names being bantered about right now are Armie Hammer, Taylor Kitsch and Garrett Hedlund. The source also says that a final decision from the studio may be announced as early as this week. However, another source says the studio may also be looking at unknowns à la Brad Pitt in Thelma & Louise.

Filming is scheduled to begin in the fall with Francis Lawrence taking over the directing reigns from Gary Ross. Catching Fire will be released on Nov. 22, 2013.

All three actors come with star status. Hammer will next be seen playing the title role in the Lone Ranger flick opposite Johnny Depp as Tonto. Tron Legacy's Hedlund was also a big Cannes Film Festival headline with the premiere of On The Road with Kristen Stewart and Kirsten Dunst while Kitsch can currently be seen in Battleship.

Reps for the three did not comment. A Lionsgate rep said, "As with the first film, we won't be confirming, denying or commenting on any casting rumors for this title. We will announce news wide when there is official casting news to announce."

Robert Pattinson recently told USA Today that rumors he was in talks to play Finnick were not true.

To be honest, I'd rather see Armie get it. I also feel like Taylor needs to pick a character with a little more depth, and star in less of a blockbuster, to prove his abilities after having had all his movies tank so bad this summer.

it could go both ways, i mean it would look good for him if he was able to score a covetable role in a huge franchise. but it depends on how much of finnick they will show in the movies. he's a good character to play and the scenes that they auditioned with are great

Taylor Kitsch shows off bulging biceps as he makes his way into JFK airport on Friday (June 29) in New York City.
“I’m so excited to get back to acting and all of the prep work,” the 31-year-old actor told JustJared.com at the Savages west coast premiere after party. “It’s been a whirlwind doing press for eight months straight [for my movies John Carter, Battleship, and Savages]!”
“I’m growing my beard out for two more months,” he added about his character for Lone Survivor, which will reunite Taylor and director Peter Berg (they worked together on Battleship). Taylor, Mark Wahlberg, and Ben Foster play three of the four lead Navy SEALs in the flick. The fourth has yet to be cast.
“I’m meeting my character [Mike Murphy]‘s family in a month,” Taylor added. “I’m really excited.”

That would be so awkward if it were real but I'm glad they rolled with it. I wonder if they knew that she's actually a comedian playing the part of ditzy 'Barbarella' from this news parody called The Noose.

Just got around to watch Savages yesterday. I postponed it for so long cause I thought it was going to suck, but I LOVED it. How come I never noticed how hot Taylor is?

^^For me it was just the opposite. I expected a lot from this movie but it sucked so hard that I stopped watching it after 20 min.

But I agree that Taylor is hot I realized it while I was watching 1st FNL episode.
