Her makeup or something looks different in those pics?!

Regardless, LOVE the shorts. Why do I love crazy things like this? I have no idea why but she looks fab, I love the shape, the color, and she does a great job balancing the silhouette.

She wears Comme well, imo; she makes it her own, i.e., looks elegant and not too costumey.

I'm not a fan of the sandals, but I'm really in love with that CDG dress.

^^i agree... the sandals are the sticking point for that dress for me as well...
otherwise i think it's so fun to see people wearing pieces from that collection

Two days ago, The team of Moda Operandi, the only fashion e-tailor that lets you secure and pre-order the items you see straight from the runway, visited my hometown Kuwait for a private event. The Private event and cocktail reception was in the presence of Áslaug Magnúsdóttir Moda Operandi Co-Founder & CEO, whom I have previously interviewed and featured here during her last visit to Kuwait, and Moda Operandi's Artistic Director and global style icon Taylor Tomasi Hill.

Unfortunately, due to the traffic jam that night, which coincided with the firework show in celebration of the golden jubilee anniversary of Kuwait's constitution, and because I live close to where the celebrations were held, I couldn't attend the Moda Operandi event. My plan was to go to Moda Operandi's event right after the fireworks show. Of course that would have been also impossible because the roads were blocked for hours after the show. So we spent the night on the rooftop enjoying the show, can't complain about that as it was beyond magnificent, you can read the Daily Mail's review here.

Now back to the Moda Operandi's event, my friend who attended the event said that the talented designer Ingvar Helgason of Ostwald Helgason, was there too. Moda Operandi presented his S/S 2013 collection, along with a selection of one-of-a-kind vintage Hermes bags from Heritage Auctions. Oh! and by the way, did you know that Ostwald Helgason is currently stocked at Boutique N? Isn't that super fabulous! The owner just knows how to pick the hottest brands around! Kudos to her!

Anyways, I was also asked by Moda Operandi if I could take Taylor Tomasi Hill on a quick tour to show her around my favorite spots in Kuwait for her Middle East diary which is supposed to be featured in Harper's Bazaar magazine and Style.com Arabia, and I had to do it in like 3 hours, Oh, I forgot to mention that the Moda Operandi team flew in all the way from New York and stayed for like less than 24 hours in Kuwait and they had to fly to Dubai the next day to continue their road show. Of course I jumped at this opportunity! Spending any amount of time with my ultimate style icon for the second time around is like beyond amazing! What have I done to deserve this rally! So I made a plan to go to at least six places, but of course due to the traffic jam and the fact that we like to shop, we only managed to squeeze in two locations, which are Souk Al Mubarikiya and 52 Degrees. I wanted to take Taylor to the Modern Museum, DAI, AlOthman boutique, Boutique 4, and some art galleries, but most were closed (except for Boutique 4 and DAI, as we ran out of time). 2 to 5PM is a dead time in Kuwait, unless you enjoy going to the malls.

Marie Claire Kuwait also joined in briefly as they had to do a photoshoot with Taylor Tomasi Hill, we were lucky enough to get a sneak peak of the photos taken by Kuwaiti photographer Hamad Al Shaijy and they looked ahhhhmazing!! Taylor had to do a quick change of outfit at one of the boutiques in Saqran Complex, where we also had authentic Kuwaiti meal at this clean and neat restaurant called Tikka & Lumi. Thank you Sara for suggesting it. And last but not least, in the middle of our tour we were joined by Tala Samman of MyFashdiary, who I finally had the pleasure to meet personally, she also flew in from Dubai to attend the event for her Style.com Arabia coverage and it was her first visit to Kuwait. I really hope that everyone enjoyed their brief stay. Anyways, I'll leave you now with some highlights of the tour...

^Yeah, I thought that outfit looked fun until I scrolled down to the shoes, too  I like the sweater and the tote bag. And she does look great in a more tomboy-ish and less glammed up look. She's so lucky, her face really doesn't need any make-up to look striking.

She wore those creepers once with a crisp white shirt and a black skirt and I thought they looked pretty cool. But here I have to agree: there is just one too many "graphic" black/white pieces, with the striped t-shirt, the tote bag and then the shoes too. I actually like the pants, though I know they aren't for everyone.

A MORNING WITH TAYLOR TOMASI HILL
The Savoir Flair team recently had the pleasure of spending a morning with one of the world’s most stylish and most photographed women, Taylor Tomasi Hill.

As creative director for online “pretail” giant ModaOperandi.com, Taylor and a slew of her equally famous colleagues (including M’O founder Aslaug Magnusdottir) visited Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Kuwait on a whirlwind 3-day press trip earlier this month. On her last day in Dubai, the lovely Taylor asked that she spend a morning with us discovering our beautiful city, particularly the historic district of Bastakiya, named after the Bastak region of Iran. Click through as we uncover the impressive sights, sounds, and smells of one of the oldest residential areas in Dubai.
