Tell Anna Wintour How To Improve / Revamp US Vogue

^ I'm pretty sure most people come here thinking "oh god let's see what crap Anna has in store this month" rather than "I can't wait to see what the fashion bible is about this month"... I couldn't care less for the cover subject and the magazine itself, I'm just curious about the casting, or should i say curious about what girls are gonna go to waste in a boring Meisel photoshoot, jumping up and down in poorly styled outfits alongside Caroline Trentini...

Vogue US has always reigned supreme, it's always the magazine to see, it doesn't matter if Vogue Italia is edgy, I know that fashionistas love Vogue Italia but unfortunetly there aren't fashionistas enough as to name Vogue Italia the bible of the fashion.

obviously that "fashion bible" title was given a long time ago, and times have changed... It may still be the best-selling fashion magazine (and that's hardly a prowess, considering it's from one of the biggest countries in the world and it's written in English) but i don't think it's anything spectacular fashion-wise anymore...
The reason why getting the cover is such a big deal is because Anna won't give it to a model every month or so like Vogue Paris and Vogue Italia do. That's how I see things anyways.

Wasn`t InStyle the biggest selling magazine last year or the year before?

I just thought of one! (Besides Hilary) A big American high fashion model, Missy Rayder! But only by Meisel, they work so well together.

Or Cameron Russel, she isn't that big at the moment but she is gorgeous & has that all-American look.

Umm that's just plain stupid...if you mean Brasilian as in Gisele she is one of the few models that sell today...and if you mean Russian as in Natalia she is bigger then most of the US "it" girls right now. And I agree with Pedro...if you were to think that way would Italian models just be on the cover of Italian Vogue? And would German Vogue just feature German models?

I know, what kind of logic is that?

All I know is this. I got really excited when I saw a model on the cover of American Vogue again (and it has been a while) or let alone, any high fashion magazine! So be it a Russian, German, Brazilian, Japanese, model is on the cover of American Vogue I really don't care! Just to know an actual model is gracing that American Vogue that's huge to me!

IMO* I'm tired of seeing actresses on fashion covers too!

The reason why getting the cover is such a big deal is because Anna won't give it to a model every month or so like Vogue Paris and Vogue Italia do.

I don't think so, even when the Supermodels ruled the magazines the US Vogue cover was the major thing, the cover of the goddeses, believe me.

US Vogue = Super Bowl of the High Fashion models.

i agree with this one hundred percent. when it think of fashion bible, i certainly do not think of us vogue.

I desagree with you. In the 90s, Vogue Us was more prestigious, but now... that magazine is crapper. The quality of the paper is lower than Vogue Uk and Paris. IMO, UK and Paris are the best Vogue.

^^^The quality of US Vogue is never lower than Uks or Paris. Are you serious? Uk Vogue has the worst paper quality ever, and the same with Paris!
I consider Vogue Italia to be the fashion bible, but i love US Vogue aswell.

I think the problem with US Vogue is that they are too focused on advertising collections and helping sell them.

Italia Vogue doesn't care about selling clothes, therefore they are free to do something more artistic and haute-fashion with their editorials and covers. They don't even list prices of the clothes in their editorials!

If Vogue took a more artistic direction, maybe we would see more creative and innovative editorials as well models on the covers. The bottom line is, that US Vogue wants to sell and the only way to do this is to commercialize the magazine and put a sh*tload of celebrities in it. Sad - but true.

ialmrnt5: I definitely agree with Missy Raydar. Such a beautiful girl. She deserves a cover... Has she had a Vogue US cover before...?

that's precisely why US Vogue rules over the others, in the 90's Gianni Versace adored Anna Wintour, every designer wanted their outfits on the US Vogue, Karl Lagerfeld loves Anna, everyone loves Anna 'cause she's the most powerful woman in the fashion bussiness, John Galliano has been widely supported by Anna, without her he wouldn't be what he is now, the same with Marc Jacobs.

Anna Wintour is power, we love Anna! Vogue US rules, yeah!

Regardless, American Vogue is still boring as hell! There is never anything creative, innovative or even remotely interesting in the magazine.

The only reason Anna is so revered (or feared, for that matter:lol:) is because she holds so much power, not because she's talented.

yeah, zero talent, one day she was bored in home watching Dinastia and Dallas, without nothing to do and then she said herself "oh, I wanna be powerful, power come to me!" and guess what? the next day she was directing US Vogue

Perhaps paper quality varies depending on whether you get an export copy or a 'national' copy of a magazine.

For years, I bought US Vogue in the UK and thought its paper quality was abysmal - until someone got me a few copies direct from the US, which had glossy covers and much better paper. It was like a different magazine.

I don't think Vogue needs a model on the cover to take a more artistic direction. They could make a greater artistic effort with the celebrities they place on the cover. Instead of just plopping them down in some grass in a designer gown, I don't see why they couldn't create a fantasy image or something fun and original. Anna just chooses not to.

She is still sort of new, so no- unfourtunately. She has been in almost every Vogue Italia ed this month, Meisel loves her & she is edgy, I'd love to see her on the cover of US Vogue, by of course, Meisel.

edit: I don't dislike Vogue US or anything, I'm just saying it'd be nice to see some great American models on the cover sometime. Anna is all for supporting up & coming American designers & does a lot of things to help them out but she can't help out an up & coming American model?
