i had an idea for a theme that i was excited about but now i'm not sure. what do you guys think?

5 years ago - what were you listening to 5 years ago?

do you guys think this would work? it would probably be similar to now, but i thought 10 years might be going too far back for some of us

The thing is, Francesca, as lovely an idea as that is, five years ago my taste in music was extremely... trendy... I was 13, and a teeny bopper... *ahem

that's what i was thinking might be a problem, but it could be really funny! i mean it WILL be funny, but it could be FUN or something. anyway, we have some time to come up with good themes and we'll figure it out.

What was i listening to 5 years ago... Midnite Vultures, When The Pawn..., and probably still Summerteeth. That's about it!

I like the roadtrip idea. Especially having just read "On The Road" and all of that sad, empty hyperactivity still in my mind. Though i suppose the "new year/new beginning" theme is more timely, even though it's a bit vague and i can't quite wrap my head around it.

This might be a bit obvious, but at some point we should probably do a "fashion" theme. Unless that already happened and i missed it.

we haven't done a fashion theme, but how obvious like i think i may have said (?) earlier, we can perhaps get a few and then either pick one or perhaps each person can choose which to do.

anna's right - maybe we should save some themes for upcoming mixes! i got so excited! and we are always happy to have open rounds as well, with no theme so it's a total free-for-all

i also haven't gotten several of my mixes so i'm hoping the new year is better for everyone
