The 90s Comeback

there were so many great things happening in fashion in the 90s, not just silly trends

* minimalism: jil sander, helmut lang, prada
* 1st wave of belgians including ann demeulemeester and margiela really started to make their mark and paved the way for the 2nd generation from antwerp ;raf simons, veronique branquinho, af vandevorst etc, who debuted towards the end of the decade
* the whole cool london scene with mcqueen, chalayan etc...
* there were also some great new photographers like corinne day, juergen teller, david armstrong and david sims just to name a few, who really modernized the face of fashion editorials and campaigns

i like ripped tights. & bondage dresses. & crop tops. & velour. & doc martens. & ugly jewellery. & flannell shirts. & pigtales. & cheesy flower prints.

today i wore ripped tights, a white tank top together with buffalo shoes. i looked gooooood & felt really 96 with sonic youth in my headphones. i'm the biggest wannabe ever. but i really like the 90's. in a ironic kind of way, of course!!!!!!!!!!!!11one

What about cycle shorts? Ive noticed AA (they had them for a long time) & recently H&M & Topshop having them in cool patterns.

If there were one thing I enjoyed of the 90s decade of fashion was its minimalism. Little black spaghetti strap and bondage dresses, the exposed zippers, minim accessories. Much better than 80's imho.
Just not entirely sure of the crop top ... I'm sensing a lot of people will pair it off with some destroyed pair of cut-offs and overall, I find that to be a bit sloppy and careless. But I suppose that's the whole point of it

Oh and cycling shorts Not a fan of (too)tight fitting spandex/cotton. Though I've haven't seen any brave souls wear them yet.

LOL... just wear an oversized shirt to cover your bum. Thats what Id do anyways. I dont know lol... Id probably just wear them to dance class.

What about those crazy hats? I just saw a youtube clip of Halle Berry on Conan from 1993 wearing a large hat with a flower on the front... not exactly Blossom like but very 90s. I love the hat shes wearing in the clip... I dont know what the style is called but I wish I could find one lol.

Ah, I decade I can actually remember. Watching some old re runs of Sister Sister brought back memories of dressing head to toe in one colour and thinking nothing of it. Those yellow tartan trousers Tamera wears are legendary.
