it only makes it worse if you try and wash too much
I agree with this, from my experience the less stuff you put on your face the better. Avoid medication that can really dry your skin because that'll escalate your problem (like 10% benzoyl peroxide). I now use Mycin gel that's really light on the skin and I can't remember the last time I had a bulging pimple on my face.

I'm not saying milk does or doesn't aggravate acne because everyone has different triggers. For those who can't do without milk in their coffees / teas, I've been without milk in coffee for about eight months now. I can no longer bear to drink coffee with milk in as I feel as if my mouth is being coated in yuk. I supplement my calcium intake with yoghurt and cheese. I just wanted you to know that it is do-able. I used to have the milkiest coffees in the world (almost)

but what about cereal?! I loooove coco pops!!! i suppose I could switch to having toast in the morning...it's so hard to change though! Thanks for your advice Womanolo.

i agree about the whole "too many products idea" but i have been using clean and clear's acne clear cream, with salicylic acid and i swear when i just put a tiny drop on any blemish that i have, it dries it right up!

^ do you guys still moisturise even with oil free formulas?
I'm thinking it's probably a good idea...what do you think?

I had bad experiences with moisturizers, even oil-free ones. My skin is oily and somehow it reacts badly to moisturizers and I totally broke out when I used it. Ultimately though, it may not be suitable for my skin but maybe it is for yours because our skin may react differently :flower:

^ Doesn't bother me or a friend that recommended it?

Apparently drinking milk is bad for acne-prone people because it helps make the skin oily...

AWWW...i love all mild based products....dammit, time to go back to soy yogurt and cheese....^_^

^ The article said that it was only Cow's milk that was bad for the skin as it causes allergies ie. acne, but Goat's milk and soy are good...

For those who hate soy milk, I always get vanilla flavoured soy. The one I get is also sweetened with apple concentrate. It is absolutely gorgeous!!

Incidentally, it's also excellent if you zap it in a food blender with a banana.

^ I will try that (making a fruit smoothie out of it) as I absolutely hate drinking soy yet it is so good for you...

I just bought myself a carton of unsweetened non-dairy soya. The beans are organically grown and mixed with water. Tastes good but in a really insipid way.
