I am too considering the Red Vif but in the day or maybe the City model, possibly the work, I have to see the work again I have forgotten the actual size in real person.

I like the day but am thinking it is too narrow as you say and would like to see the courier as well.

Do you think the red will rub off on lighter colors say a white shirt or do you think say a black leather jacket will blacken the red? I know this is probably a dumb question but it was something I was wondering.

bohomamma, i don't know about the red, but i had several balenciaga. some are in bright colours like magenta, orange etc.
and no problem of rub off on me

Sehorse, thank you. I can't seem to decide what I want, city or day, or even the First. I know they are entirely different, am very undecided and would like to be a responsible shopper and buy ONE (even though I feel like buying a few).

I think if they had the magenta now I would instantly buy the City in magenta. The last year and a half I was totally out of the loop for everything, was pretty overwhelmed with family stuff, if I could go back in time I would definitely pick up a magenta, I absolutely love it.

I think the red vif is beautiful. I like the fact that it is bright but not orangish yet not a dark red either.

The more colors I see the more confused I become, the blue india is nice, red vif is so devlish I love it, am looking into a city in a rust color which is great. I have a black first from 2002 which is somewhere (can't seem to find it since I moved recently), back in the day when they only had black and brown. Even that beige/grey color is interesting.

Ok question to you Balenciaga gals- what do you think about the cobalt for the s/s collection? I love turquoise colors, not flat blue, something exotic. I looked at the swatches for the next season but its hard to imagine a entire bag from just a 2 by 3 swatch. Are there any exotic colors for the next collection?

I literally have no one to ask other than SA's which you know just want you to buy right then and if I can't even attempt to ask my fiancee, well if they didnt have price tags I could (guys don't get handbags in my opinion). OK I bought the red vif City. I couldnt stand it anymore. I saw a gorgeous india blue work....or was it a part time, cant remember but it was beautiful. The grenat color I saw in a few models and it is great merlot color, really delicious. I wanted a red vif City or day but they didnt have the day and I just decided to go with what I couldnt stop staring at which was the lovely red. This is all due to all of you and your comments, thank you for your great advice! XOXOXOXOX

Some quick questions 1) That flat hobo bag Kate Moss is always spotted with, in black and light blue (Balenciaga of course), is discontinued right? 2)What is the price on the Day Bag? 3) Who has the best selection of Balenciagas, the actual store in NYC, Barneys, etc? Just wondering. I find one store has one thing, another has something else, so you can never decide because you can't see them all. Thank you in advance!

I bought my emerald green Box from BalNy this summer and they had, I felt, a wider selection than Barneys. I also think it depends what day you go etc. Some days the SA would tell me that certain colors were sold out and I had to wait until they got them in before I could see them. BalNY has them all in the back, whereas Barneys has them all hanging on the floor.

Thanks Kathween. So I guess Bal NY is the best then or Barneys. I am actually in Europe right now and was in italy for the weekend (no I was NOT trying to get a glimpse of Tomkat thank you), and as an observation, no one had the First or the City in black...interesting right? I would think they would always have black. A lot of browns, sapin, sar red (grenat), some red vifs oh and the india blue just in the work size. I find it irritating when you want to buy a bag (and a costly one for that matter), and they dont have all the colors for you to see. Maybe thats just me though.

You're right...they are very structured. That's why i sent mine back to NM...the body is like an accordian envelope. Very beauutiful and veiny leather...I needed one less structured that I can wear on my shoulder. I have two kids...any suggestions ladies?

I love the Day bag as I have two little ones also! It fits EVERYTHING. I put diapers, changes of clothes for them and all my stuff. LOVE it, I have the Day bag in four colors ( red 05, light rose, black, white).

I was thinking about conditioning my bbag with the Apple Garde leather care. Is there anyone here that has experience with conditioning bbags? Any help is appreciated! I have the rouge vif city.

How long time does it take? Can I do it inside on a table?

from the picture it looks authentic... but i think you also need to ckeck on the hardwares too, and the silver tag numbers and the back leather tag numbers to be more sure

sgaotw: I think applegarde is plenty. A few coats will be all you need. In time, if you think it needs more, apply it again. I don't like to do much to my bags unless I can tell they need it.

so I ventured over to another thread on tFS, and they were discussing knockoff balenciagas and such... granted there are no trademark logos on bbags, but still... the thought of balenciaga-inspired bags kinda irks me... i hope i didn't offend anyone.
